a loot shoot and a busy Sunday

by Sharon Santoni
I can safely qualify today as BUSY.  Up at 5am this morning, toured 3 brocante fairs, came back with a respectable selection of goodies for my loot shoot plus a rather nice bicycle that I shall be testing along the valley this week.
Just enough time to show , shelf and shoot, write this little post quickly to show you the goods and I am out of here, invited to lunch YAY!!

There were a lot of paintings today, I don’t know why, there are days like that.  You’ll see several in the loot shoot.  A good day also for pretty little cups, including one named Julie.

I hope you’re having a great Sunday, as you know you are welcome to contact me if anything in the pictures interests you.
Many people now enquire before I even have time to list stuff in the store so don’t be shy 🙂

Wonderful Sharon! I popped into a local Antiques fair this morning in search of paintings and there was not one to be had. I am looking for that quintessential English landscape/village scene. The kind I pass everyday! I am sure I have seen many in the past. Isn't it always the case…when you are looking…there is nothing. I also stopped in to check out some English linens, remebering the French ones I bought from you. Nothing as nice as what you have. You have the eye for the extra special!! :)xx

Great finds. Noting so elegant right now in the outdoor brocantes in the Dordogne. Happy hunting!

The silver pots with Welcome Hotel embossed on them peaked my curiosity. There is a web for the hotel now and the history of it is listed there. I can almost see them presenting coffee in the pots back in 1920.

Great "haul" today, or loot as you say. Like everything you bought. You are a good picker. Do you sell most of your loot? Or is the barn full? Just wondering….

Isn't it great how a day of hunting can take on a theme all it's own? Today was a great art day for you… what wonderful paintings you found. Also love those children's books. Can't wait to see photos while riding the new bicycle. Brocante season has begun- nicely done.

I did the same thing on Friday.
Came home with a tiny little owl with his wings outstretched.

Beautiful collection! I was going through "loot" today, but in kind of reverse process than you. I've been cleaning closets and cupboards and sorting through things to donate, sell and keep. It's amazing how much stuff you can save just because you live alone in a big old two-story house!
