living with French antiques – a passion

by Sharon Santoni
[blank] Today I invite you to take a step back in time as I lead you to visit the home of a couple of antique and brocanteurs who do things differently.[blank]
[blank]Pascale and Olivier have taken collecting and decorating with antiques to a whole new level, as they acquire, restore and decorate homes.  This beautiful 17th century property, in Champagne country east of Paris, has been theirs for the past seven years and has proved the ideal location for displaying their beautiful collections of furniture and precious treasure.[blank]
[blank]Their home is at once home and showroom – a window on their extraordinary eye and talent for arranging, presenting and decorating.[blank]
[blank]
[blank]

Twice a year they open the ground floor of the house to the public for a big sale.  The next will be for Christmas 2013.  The rest of the year it is possible to visit and buy on appointment only.[blank]

[blank]If you are interested in visiting them for their winter sale then keep an eye on the Ventes Privées page of their website, Le Grillon Voyageur.[blank]
[blank]
[blank]And if by any chance your ambitions and purse are larger than required for just a Christmas sale, then I have a scoop for you!    The couple are ready to move on!  This lovely home will be up for sale, so maybe you’d like to call it yours!
Just one condition if you do, please promise you’ll invite me to tea![blank]

Ah Sharon, this is so lovely. I would love to see that kitchen and the whole place for that matter. Your friends sound like "our" kind of people, renovating, restoring and decorating-all the things we love to do!
Hugs to you!

There was a "Power Ball" winner of like …560 million [exact figure I can't remember] but the owner of that ticket still hasn't presented him or herself. It was me I'd purchase this place and of course invite you over for tea all the time. Really beautiful!

Wow, that space is so wonderful. I can understand a need to move on … they are obviously so good at what they do and have a talent to create that a fresh space to start over with may be what they need! How wonderful the people that 'inherit' the wonderful ambience they have made. Just beautiful. Jennifer. x

Bonjour,

The way they designed their house using the antiques is very spectacular! I know many antique lovers will be inspired with their interiors and I can see that they're taking good care of these decorative antiques. These valuables are the remnants of our history and they must be used properly to preserve history. I hope they can tell us where they get their antiques. If they're planning to sell anything, they must be ready to deal with realtors who specialize in antiques.
