early autumn in my garden

by Sharon Santoni

[blank]There is a very special moment at the end of the day and before the beginning of the night that creates a magical light.  It is a moment I wait for,  a moment I am always aware of, in any season.[blank]

[blank] In my garden  there is a flurry of bright flowers at the moment, each doing their utmost to outshine their neighbours and wave goodbye to summer.[blank]

[blank]My garden is not perfect, it is not professionally designed or tended,  but the flowers seem happy here … and so are we. [blank]

[blank] A few pictures snapped  before dusk; my way to wish you a happy weekend.[blank]

How pretty…that is the most wonderful Dahlia, I remember when you had pictures of it before and I looked at it longingly, as I remember you picked it up in a shop in a bin without a name.

Cosmos and those dahlias are the most beautiful I've ever seen.

Lovely cosmos, and is that bee balm? Mine is long since gone by: jealous.

Bonjour,
Il n'est que délice de voir s'épanouir des fleurs de toutes sortes, peu importe si des règles devraient s'imposer… Comme vous l'écrivez si bien, elles sont heureuses tout simplement.
Gros bisous

Sharon

I love your garden. "Less than perfect" now that's my kind of garden. Your garden looks so pretty. I don't really like the perfect gardens some people have with everything mapped out to perfection with manicured lawns that you are not supposed to walk on. I like it when plants look like they have always been growing there in nature and the lawn is lush and green and not too short.
That's the kind of garden I want to hang out in.

I've always thought dusk a special time of the day, to me there is always a sense of expectancy. Not only does the light change but so do the sounds.

I often wait at the window for that slant of midas-gold in the treetops just before the sun dips below the worlds rim. They say there is a threshold between night and day where the faery can step into our world and we into theirs. That light is so enchanting I almost believe it.

Dusk is my very favorite time of day as well. 🙂 My garden is very new so it is patchy and small, not lush and wonderfully overgrown yet. But it will be. 🙂 And I shall bask in it as you do in yours. 🙂
