[blank]Paris fashion week started yesterday, and there was a buzz in the air. Paris gets quite excited during the fashion week, the images on the tv news each evening, it’s fun.
One of my favourite ‘fashion’ videos is this one, made by Dior a while ago with the lovely French actress Marion Cotillard, playing the part of a model/actress who has enough of being the fashion object.
A light hearted look at a business that can sometimes take itself oh-so-seriously. Hope it makes you smile.[blank]

Love it!
OMG! I love Marion Cotillard!
Ha! Fantastic.
OHHHH, what beautiful clothes and purses!!!
Good Lord, Sharon…..thank you….that video was wonderful (predictably enough, I'd never seen it).
NOTHING that I've heard in weeks and weeks equals, for sheer self-aborption, that stylist's line "I tend to agree with myself". I'm going to start using that whenever I try to be "nice" and/or "diplomatic" by asking for others' input. I don't think I ever really fool anyone when I do try, anyway.
This piece reminded me of Cottilard's acting in both "Piaf" and the otherwise predictable "A Good Year" (by the middle of which, she was the only thing that seemed spontaneous). She's the Very Best at playing a woman who's DOING HER BEST, thank you, to go with the flow and be a team-player, work-WITH-other-people, "adjust your expectations to others' needs and 'feelings' ", etcetera……except you can tell by her face that she's just b-a-r-e-l-y restraining herself from exploding (she does that, quite gratifyingly, a few times in both "Piaf" and "A Good Year").
Oddly enough, Sandra Bullock is also very adept at playing the sort of woman who, having previously played "nice girl", really is standing on the edge of having finally had enough of all this idiocy (and idiots)….
Thanks so muich….that made my morning (Which is now going to consisty of writing dutiful,long-forestalled letters to potential clients, one severely mathematically-challenged gallery owner who handles my work, and an elderly relative's lawyer (I have to convince the guy to please not quit, no matter how difficult she may be. I may pull a Cottilard by the end of this day….)./

Double Love it!!
HILARIOUS! I never saw this before!
So much fun!
Too funny, and most likely absolutely true to life. All funny characters, but I especially laughed at the super self-absorbed stylist with his gossip about "you know who at the Emmys." And Cotillard, of course, who is a marvelous actress.
So funny. I loved the comments……about Tibetan prayer flags and the palm fronds. Fashion is fun and good dress sense and style is important but the seriousness and shallowness of the fashion industry leaves it wide open for ridicule. I enjoyed a good laugh.
The handbags are gorgeous but I will never be able to afford one, so in the meantime I will love and enjoy the Dior perfumes I have.
Love it! lol
Very good, very clever!
Fabulous!! Am smiling… a great start to the day… I shall have to share this one Sharon… 🙂 xv
This is so funny..love the line "tiny little people counting on you"…..fun to see this to start my day!
Waiting to see what Dior shows for Spring. And, yes, this is brilliant!
Just the other day I was speaking about trying to find some balance in my life. I laughed quite heartily at this Sharon because this is about as unbalanced as a person's life could get. I'm sitting here while looking out at a peaceful setting of a farm & about as far away as a person can get from the crazy world of Paris fashion week. I'm definitely going to remember those priceless one-liners in this little movie. Thank you for this! XO
The proof's in the pudding: There is no one like Marion Cotillard.
I have never seen this! Stunning + Cotillard is supreme. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
Sharon, this is wonderful! I'm sending it to all my friends. Thanks so much for sharing! You're blog is absolutely the BEST!
