Haras du Gazon – a great place to stay in Normandy

by Sharon Santoni
[blank]How about driving home to this each evening?!    that is a reality for Anne and Tim Holford who bought this stunning stud farm a few years ago.   They were charmed by the green green pastures of traditional Normandy horse country, the rolling hills and of course the sheer beauty of this stunning property that has been a stud farm for the past 100 years and more.[blank]
[blank]
[blank]Here they started breeding show jumpers, and have a professional cavalier showing them in competitions, as well as fields brimming with beautiful mares and foals.[blank]
[blank]Once they had the horse operation up and running, Anne and Tim decided to share their everyday beauty, and converted some of the haras buildings to guest accommodation.    This summer they have received their first guests, and as you can imagine,  there is an air of excitement in the air![blank]
[blank]The guest rooms are situated  near the stable blocks, and their clients love the sudden proximity of everyday farm life.  observing the schooling of  young horses, and  farm maintenance is a hypnotically restful thing when you don’t have to do the work yourself![blank]
[blank]Of course, guests are encouraged to enjoy the grounds of the farm, from the formal parterres, the walled gardens, and the rose beds, to the meadows with old stone bridges over brooks.  This is a real country get away.[blank]
[blank]The Haras du Gazon has rooms to welcome twenty guests – and that is what I would call a house party!   Can you imagine coming here with extended family to celebrate christmas, or to enjoy a summer break and explore deepest Normandy en famille![blank]

[blank]If you would like more information then pop over to the Gites du Gazon and take a full tour.  Anne is always on hand to answer your queries by email.[blank]

What a pretty life. Hi Sharon I used the word pretty cause it's a gentle word that's how I imagine life would be on this property, as for Christmas that is something to dream about. Thank you for sharing beauty. Regards Esther from Sydney. PS have a lovely weekend.
