dreaming of a home in france

by Sharon Santoni

It is grey and cold outside here, but hey , it’s the weekend,  this is a blog, and I am allowed to show just what I want  ….

today I want to dream of the returning summer, and warm days and lush green countrside and beautiful homes …

So if you have a secret, or not so secret, longing to escape to the french countryside and enjoy the lush green valleys of normandy, or the orchards of the loire, then take a look at these and just dream away.

All these properties are 17th or 18th century; in the countryside to the west of paris, ready to live in, but thankfully in need of a little ‘refreshing’.  They come with rolling acres, with outbuildings, often with stables and a pool or a tennis court, and they are all for sale.

If you’d like to daydream a little longer, or maybe even purchase, then make yourself another coffee and try checking out the catalogue here, or even here.

Happy dreaming!

Sweltering in Australia… on the flip side I guess. All of us longing for mild and gentle conditions. Lovely dreams anyway!

Thank you so much for taking me away from the negative degree weather here in Michigan! Even if it is only a dream right now, I’d love to come and see France in person. (In the summer!) My family was once from Normandy, I wonder if there are still relatives there? Ah well, back to dreaming 🙂 ….and another cup of coffee…

Here it’s a bright & sunny day once again in Arizona. A gorgeous 66 degrees so no complaint from me. I can still dream a dreamy dream wherever I might be because the grass does always seem greener on the other side of the fence. I will look at this again when the heat here is sweltering this summer, which is our “winter” when everyone finds a way to escape. Thank you for these gorgeous links from your side of the fence! X

Oh, how I am dreaming of France…now I understand what I have heard of for so many years…”we will always have Paris”…it WILL be with you always, unlike any other place I have been…the beauty, the art…did I mention the beauty… everywhere?
The countryside, les chateaus…magnifique. Thank you for bringing us the the beautiful people, places and things that dreams are made of…
I cannot wait to return!

I am in ill humor this morning after a sleepless night so this is JUST what the doctor ordered! Time, to make some more tea and settle in for a serious dreaming session…
Merci Sharon et Bon Weekend…

Just the ticket, merci! I vote for house No. 4, with the critter in the front yard and the enormous wisteria.
In the third house shown, is the turret (which looks to me like a small silo) really a pigeonnier? I thought they were built not-attached.
Lovely eye-candy.

Now those homes are what dreams are all about. If I could have my dream home in France it would be a small cottage with a lovely garden.

You really started something. I have been going through both websites pretending big time. My favorite house is the first one with the blue shutters but I couldn’t find it anywhere on the two sites you gave links for. If you have a link to it, I would love to see it! What fun to dream that I had an extra million dollars for a fixer upper! How do the French do it?!
Thanks for a fun filled afternoon 🙂

Loved the link! We’ve been snowed/iced in for days and I absolutely loved the opportunity for a little “online shopping”–I shared the link with local friends and we’ve been having a great time. Thanks.
