a girl’s day in Paris

by Sharon Santoni

When I am in Paris, I love to get behind the scenes .  To find out what makes people tick, to understand the magic.

Today I spent a wonderful afternoon at my favourite florist, Atelier Vertumne near the Louvre in Paris.

Besides being one of the very best places to buy cut flowers, they also offer classes.   This would be such a fun thing to do with a few girlfriends!

The classes include a demonstration, and access to all the necessary blooms and materials to make up a divine bouquet to take home or gift.  It can be arranged to suit your theme, or inspired by seasonal flowers and colours.

This is not just putting together a bunch of flowers, this is  petal poetry shared by one of Paris’ most gifted floral artists.

Today I came away with a bouquet, but pretty soon I’ll be back for a class!

I think that would be so much fun. Your take away is gorgeous and I think you could teach the class.

Let’s take a class (cooking, wine, flowers, anything!) together in September, sans Hen! He has no interest (except maybe the flowers!).

Wow, what a heavenly place to be & those cloud-like walls are absolutely a perfect backdrop! These photos make me want to see much more of this place. I agree, you could teach the class Sharon. I need a place like that to go around here!

It looks like a heavenly place! I, too, love those little hanging vases – they’d be a great addition to my large kitchen window, hanging at different heights! This post has me ready for Spring to arrive today – on a permanent basis!

How wonderful, Sharon! I’m in awe of Parisian florists and this looks like such a lovely one. Someday when my friend Dana and I come for your brocante tour, it would be such fun to add a class to our itinerary! Hope you had a perfect girl’s day in Paris. Thanks for taking us with you by way of your gorgeous photos! XOXO

Beautiful. Spring has arrived in Paris. A most loevely shop. We still have some snow around.I keep looking for my bulbs to pop up near my front door.Ordering six dwarf French lavender plants last week for potting brought spring closer.

Oh my oh my, that first picture! And on the first day of Spring! Thank you so much.

As someone proud of herself just for plopping some cut tulips in a vase the other day, I stand in awe of such flower arranging.
