spring brocante tour underway!

by Sharon Santoni

Today is the start of my spring brocante tour, with six delightful clients here for six days!

We shall be buying brocante – of course – but also enjoying the countryside that is so beautiful at this time of year.

Highlights on our itinerary include a visit to the landing beaches; a walk around Monet’s garden at  Giverny;  a tour of a 12th century abbey;  a class in french cooking with a top chef and we’ll take tea in a private home, a stunning 16th century manor house.

Our brocante buying will take us into old barns, into people’s houses, into huge warehouses and pretty stores …. choice and variety are always key elements for this sort of trip, and I plan carefully to make our days interesting and fruitful.

My guests will have had a long trip to get here so we stay local for the first day, but over the next week we’ll be venturing much, much further and seeing all sorts of treasure and wonderful things.

Here on the blog, it will be business as usual with a couple of blog posts prepared for the weekend, but if you want to keep up with us on the tour then follow our steps on Instagram and on twitter.  I’ll be posting images of what we see and get up to all day long.

I just discovered your wonderful website & blog.
I live in the Luberon, surrounded by wonderful old villages & of course brocante.
I think it is hard to find bargains here but I still look & it is always fun.
I shall visit your site regularly as it’s so interesting & wonderful photos.
Thankyou
Gill

I look forward to going along with your guests on their brocante hunt, if only through your pictures and posts! Thanks for including me!

This is on my wish list of trips. Exploring through someone’s eye who lives in the heart of France is so much more than just visiting.
Looking forward to the updates from the excursions.

Sharon, someday I’m coming to see you. A brocante trip with you is near the top of my bucket list (and I want to meet the famous Ghetto and Gibson). Normandy in the spring is just beautiful and I know that your guests will have a lovely time. Have fun! XOXO

Sharon,
Brocante season is a phrase that evokes a longing to be in France with you and your other guests. I am looking forward to seeing the loot shoot and any other photos of your current buying excursions. It is a little to trip to France…vicariously.

Oh how envious I am Sharon of these people that are with you shopping, seeing & doing all these things. Love the photos; that wisteria gets me every time.

That china — tea set? — is marvelous. Wildly impractical, I suppose, but beautiful.

Have a wonderful week, full of successful hunting.

How this makes me long to join one of your tours. But I’d just be buying a few things for myself, nothing more. Still, poking through lovely old barns and such might tempt me so much that I’d need a container to ship home. You’ve planned a wonderful experience for your lucky guests. Have a great time!

Although I’m not able to be amongst your six very fortunate clients, I’ll be following your adventures along the way via your pictures and posts until I talk my friends in joining your brocante tour someday…it’s definately a goal of mine to get there. 🙂
