august giveaways at my french country home

by Sharon Santoni

Summer is advancing fast and I am thinking ahead to  August when I slow down a little,  recharge my batteries  and enjoy some quality time with family and friends.

This is the moment in the year when I like to showcase some of  my talented readers by inviting them to offer a giveaway gift.   Last year’s summer giveaways were amazing; the prizes ranged from commissioned artwork, to handmade bird houses to private photo shoots and beautiful jewellery.

If you have something gorgeous that you would like to share here on MFCH, then drop me a line.    In return for your generosity I’ll  publish a post about your products, and  share the news on the MFCH facebook page for maximum publicity.

There is no charge, you simply need to supply the divine giveaway prize or prizes and ship to the lucky winner or maybe winners.  In exchange I publish a post about you and your products!

There are five Saturdays in August this year, so I can accept a maximum of five giveaways.  If you would like to be among the sponsors for this exceptional giveaway month, just send me a mail with details of your product, a link to your site and a little information about yourself.   I’ll give preference to home products and personal accessories.

Merci beaucoup!

This is such a lovely idea. I may have to think about it!

I just found my way back to your beautiful blog. I have missed so much…I will have to read back posts.

Happy Summer Solstice,
Kerrie

You’re right, Katherine…….Donna’s work (I’ve just been to and through her good website) is, indeed, quite beautiful and evocative.

They’re all fine paintings, of course, but I also thought “Oh…..she could design/paint really beautiful scarves”. For 15 or so years, I’ve bought presents (for my mother and female friends)from a woman who, like Donna Stropes, is an extremely accomplished watercolorist….with a fine eye for composition and subtle colors. At one point, she teamed-up with another woman who specializes in fine silk-screening; together, they make astoundingly lovely scarves, pillowcases, lampshades (odd, but true…and equally lovely), and a number of other items.

The woman still paints pictures, of course (every “object” originates as a painting), but there are so many other ways to enjoy and marvel at what she does with color.

In any case, Ms. Stropes has got a good thing going on, as we say hereabouts…..

Sincerely,

David Terry
