stunning 18th century property for sale

I am very excited to share this very special property with you.    It is a house that I have admired for a long time, belonging to the über-talented antique dealers and stylists, Pascale and Olivier of Le Grillon Voyageur.

The construction of this property is 18th and 17th century, and it lies to the east of Paris in champagne country,in a little town called Sezanne, surrounded by Champagne vineyards.  From here it takes about 90 minutes to drive from here to Paris centre, or to the airports.

Pascale and Olivier are selling this home because they are moving to another house not so far away that will give them even more space for their family and work.  They have lived here for many years, and the rooms have often hosted their well known antique sales, when all the furniture on display is offered for sale and the house becomes a showroom.

Charmingly, this property used to be a residence of the Marquise de Beauharnais, who was the sister in law to the Empress Josephine.   It has also been a school and a convent in its time, as well as having been a home to several of the big families in Champagne.

The property comprises a main residence (approx. 350 m2) overlooking a cosy walled garden on one side and, on the other side, a court-yard including outbuildings (130m2) used as workshop, garage, storage, 2 rooms and attic above.
Buildings and land cover a 951m2 area.
The charm of this house lies in its very many original elements: wood-panelling, chimneys, parquet-flooring, pier-glass console mirrors, as well as the wisteria that covers the facade.

The ground floor is made up of a hall, a vestibule, Salon de la Marquise, dining-room, library, 2 bedrooms, bathroom, pantry, kitchen, and a toilet.
The first floor includes a landing, 5 bedrooms, two bathrooms , an  office, a laundry-room, and attics in their original state.   On the second floor there are further attics that could be converted to living space.
Back down the stairs and beneath the house are hidden four vaulted cellars.  Which means a lot of space for storing good wine and champagne!

If you would like more details on this (very reasonably priced!) home, then just drop me a line here, and I shall be happy to pass on your message to Pascale and Olivier.
…and of course there is one condition  should you become the next owners of this beautiful home …. that I shall want to come to tea!

Dear Barbara, Thank you for letting me know you are having problems viewing the photos.
May I please ask that you try cleaning the cache of your computer, I think this may help.
If that doesn’t fix the problem, please don’t hesitate to email me and I’ll try to find a different solution

I couldn’t see all the pics for some reason, some were blank. Love this house ever since I saw the article in Romantic Homes magazine. I did my bathroom floor like one of the checked black and white rubbed out floor. I just love this home. I wouldn’t change one thing.

The design is fantastic, a good option for a large family. I am now also considering various options for buying, so far I have stopped at this https://www.sunnyrealty.com/Sunny-Isles-Beach/Trump-Towers/ . This is a rather complex question that requires more study

It looks luxurious, I think everyone understands how real estate is a good investment. In addition, you can not even waste your time on the management process, but trust the professionals https://utopiamanagement.com/locations/tacoma-wa

Apologies – I only just realized the date of this post is 5 years old, so I imagine this property is not currently on the market. If you have similar listings, I’d be interested to know of them.
Sincerely, Tony
