I am excited to tell you that the May edition of My Stylish French Box has now been delivered so I can post the big reveal!    We love that our clients have the surprise of unwrapping our quarterly box, and so we never say what is in the box until each one has been received and opened.   Sort of Christmas every three months!

The theme for this May box was roses and gardens, and we wanted to give our clients a box full of gifts that would remind them to take their time and with a truly botanical feel.

For the first time, we had a beautiful linen bag, made especially for My Stylish French Box, and lined in pale mauve linen, printed with a picture of roses from my garden.  This is a great tote bag for making shopping more fun.

Next up an antique bobbin and antique pair of scissors, complete with pale pink velvet ribbon, ideal for tying a bunch of roses to gift to a friend, or simply to look pretty on a shelf or desk.

Continuing the antique theme, we included two little seed packets that are cute enough to frame, or maybe use as a book mark

Because we like our boxes to smell divine, we chose a diffuser by the family producer Au Pays du Fleur d’Oranger, whose rose scented perfume was echoed in their tiny gift soap.

For hands that have been gardening, or simply for the pleasure of taking care of ourselves, we turned to the traditional company Feret whose balm and hand cream are among the great traditional products, loved by generations of French women

To embellish a kitchen garden, or to use for organising at home, we were happy to include these beautiful slate tags, hand made for us in France.

And last, but by no means least, a print of a lovely floral watercolour by Jeanne McKay Hartmann.  Jeanne has created this series of watercolours exclusively for our boxes this year, and each one is a treasure to frame and display.   For those clients who have subscribed for the full year ahead, there are also notecards using Jeanne’s designs.

Voila mes amies!     Here in Normandy we are already busy preparing the next box, to be delivered in August, on the theme of Holidays in Provence …. it will be every bit as special, and of course will be filled with the perfume of the south of France.   If you’d like to know more about the boxes then pop over to our Box website, and take a look at the community page to see what our clients are saying about their box.

Hello Ann 🙂
The box is sold in USD so $195/ quarter or an annual subscription of $700 (or $175/box) – this would be subject to current exchange rates and our Canadian customers also experience a duty because of the low value threshold on shipping into Canada. We were told by a few clients this amounted to between $40 and $50 additionally. We try to answer these questions best we can in our FAQ on the box site…. unfortunately Canada is the only country we cannot guarantee will be delivered without extra charges. I hope that helps!

Hi Ann – I’m in Calgary and the extra charges to DHL for duty, GST/PST/HST, processing fee and transaction fee was $43.76. That along with the current exchange rate the box cost near $300 Canadian. Hope this helps.

Twice now when I’ve clicked over from your email to your blog my anti virus program has warned me that there is a threat detected-JS:Includer-BJH[Trj]. It hasn’t infected me but think you may need to clean up your computer.

Hi Linda, There is a security service that works on our site, perhaps try clearing your cache and I will have my developer take a peek as well? Kindly, Sharon

Arriving home after a frustrating day at work I noticed the box on my porch. I walked and fed my dog in record time so as to delve into the treasures that awaited. Sitting the box on my counter, I tore into the package like an excited child does a present. Seeing the silky grey ribbon holding tissue paper and anticipated gems, I stepped back, poured a glass of wine and very slowly proceeded. The items were each gorgeous and exciting, reminding me of my time spent in France. Thank you for taking me away for a few minutes and giving my home a beautiful fragrance that gives a feeling of stepping into a French garden.

I adore all these lovely French things! I am so happy that Macron won your election in France.

I want you and all of France and Europe to know that we in America (who are intelligent) do not like Trump in anyway and we are very embarrassed by him and the fascists ideals of the republican party as well. Please know we are going to change this, please stay our friends! Viva la France!! Always!
