a country farm house for sale

by Sharon Santoni

If ever you have come on one of my brocante tours, or if you’ve been to shop with me privately, or if you bought my first book then you’ll recognise this beautiful farm house that my friends Cecile and Franck have put up for sale.   Whenever I come here with guests, they never fail to ooh and aah about the property and say how comfortable they feel here.

After many happy years here, Cecile and Franck are about to embark on an exciting new project, and as much as they love this house, it is time to move on.

In true French country style, the property has multiple out buildings that are currently used as  work studios, and a guest cottage.  The buildings were constructed during the 18th and 19th century, and were used as a farm and as an inn on cattle drives from the country up towards Paris, which is 100km away.  The garden is quite large, and there is a wonderful chicken run at the end where Franck raises fancy chickens and geese.

Today Cecile runs a brocante and home decor store, and a successful café bistro, but before she started this activity, this was simply their family home with its spacious garden and charming country feel.

The ground floor includes a kitchen, entrance hall, dining room, bathroom, large reception room and veranda.

From the entrance hall there is access to the sitting room, the kitchen or upstairs to the two upper floors with a total of four existing bedrooms and four other rooms on the second floor.

This bright veranda was added a couple of years ago and allows for beautiful views over the garden which is planted for all year round interest.

The kitchen has a true family feel, and when more seating space is required, there is a cute dining area next door.

The overall living space is 320 sq meters, with additional space in the guest cottage and the studios.   There is a train station 10 minutes away, and it takes 80 minutes to drive to Paris.

This house is in a truly beautiful area called Le Perche, a region adjacent to Normandy.  The countryside is rich with forests and stone villages, but Paris is within easy reach.

If you’d like more details on the price or if you have other questions, the best thing is to email Franck directly HERE

That veranda would be my favorite spot. A gorgeous house, decorated with that very French nonchalance and gift for mixing styles.

I love, love, love your kitchen. Would change the picture above your bed, though, to my puppy!

Such a charming home Sharon! Delightful mix of light fixtures in the kitchen. I envy the lucky buyer who will live here when they sell this.

What a wonderful property. The house and grounds are lovely . . . I know I could be very happy there! I can just imagine myself on the veranda sipping a mimosa.

Sharon I remember sitting in that kitchen enjoying a wonderful French cooking lesson with you & the girls.Such a great experience with recipes I still enjoy & her brocante gift shop ! blew us all away. The painting I remember the most on that day was the one of a nun staring out across at us from the fireplace in their kitchen,I have her on my phone & still look at her to remember that wonderful experience you gave us on that brocante tour.I wish them Bon Chance for their next new project .My best wishes to you dear Sharon, Ros
