my stylish french box – we reveal the contents of the marie antoinette box!

by Sharon Santoni

We had a wonderful time putting together our Stylish French Box number 5, “Marie Antoinette”!    We wanted to share the 18th century design and decor inspired by Versailles and the infamous queen herself. Choosing items for our boxes is always a long process. We like to see and smell and touch everything in person, and make sure that each item compliments the others , as well as following our theme and aesthetics. Marie Antoinette was no exception.

The Marie Antoinette box has now arrived on doorsteps all over the world and for those who didn’t order, but who are interested to know what we included,  it is time for our big reveal.

Below you will find images and information about the box contents, and if you’d like to see our customers photos, follow along on Instagram or pop over to our Reviews page to see what clients are saying.

Without more ado, here are the contents of the February box ….

A paper and beech wood fan from the world famous French house of Duvelleroy. Since 1827, Duvelleroy has been creating fans for the nobility of France and England. They created Eugénie de Montijo’s fan for her wedding with Napoleon III, and the white ostrich feather fan worn by the Queen of Egypt at her wedding in 1938. We sent a few different styles in the Marie Antoinette boxes, perfect for fanning yourself on a warm day or simply as a beautiful decoration piece.

A set of Bachca cosmetics brushes which are created to be durable and ultimately comfortable on the skin and in your hand. We love the pleasing colors and aesthetics of this young Parisian company.

An original creation pillow from Charvet. We selected this Marie Antoinette-inspired detail for an original pillow cover for your sofa or living room decor.

A hand crafted soap from Maison Godet. This scented soap, in its original box is hand-crafted in Grasse and part of a family with a long history in the perfume business.

An original watercolour print from our 2018 featured artist Celine Chollet. Read more about Celine here.

A soft stick of parfum from Parisian label Sabe Masson. This parfum can be rubbed on your wrist or neck, for a gentle fragrance that lasts all day.

Biscuits from Sablesienne. These gourmet biscuits from heritage biscuit company Sablesienne are perfect for afternoon tea.

A hand made tassel. This cotton tassel looks pretty on a drawer handle or other home detail. Marie Antoinette would be delighted by its simple elegance.

An antique fork and spoon. We hunted through the brocantes and antique fairs of Normandy and beyond to bring you an antique fork and spoon serving set from France.

Make sure to get ahead of the curve and sign up early for our May box to reserve yours here

and this is a scoop …. the theme of the May box is White like May Blossom

This has been my favorite box!I use each “gift”
And it brings joy each time.(just ordered another divine Godet soap!)My husband and I lived in Paris when we first married(53 years ago!) and would frequently visit Versailles. It brings back such happy memories, including the charming watercolor by Celine.(which my husband framed and hung for me)It looks just like the boutique des fleurs next door to our apartment, and we would admire the blossoms daily!
What pleasure!

What is the next best thing if you cannot visit France? My Stylish French Box, of course! I cannot express the giddiness I feel after I receive notification that my box has left Normandie, and as I track it to my front door here in the United States. This was my second box, and I have loved each and every item. Looking forward to many more boxes in the future. Thank you Sharon and Hana.

I’m very grateful for my subscription to My Stylish French Box. I can try items/products from France that I would never have an opportunity to purchase for myself.
I also love the surprise of not knowing in advance what’s in the box.
