I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful Holiday season with your family. As promised, things are quiet around here as I make the most of my favourite people, but we wanted to bring you a special festive subscription box giveaway!
As you may know the theme for the February edition of My Stylish French Box is La Parisienne. A box full of chic, feminine Parisian items that I chose for their essential Parisian spirit. We made a little video that you can see here. Of course I can’t reveal the contents, but I am very excited to tell you that for the first time we will partner with Annick Goutal!
Every year we invite an artist to provide four illustrations for the box, which means that if you subscribe for the year you will end up with four prints ready to frame and hang together. This year we are very happy to announce that we will be sharing illustrations by Jean Jacques Sempé!
Sempé is known worldwide for his beautiful and poetic illustrations, observing people in their everyday moments in Paris, New York and the south of France. He lived in New York for a long while and illustrated the cover of the New Yorker magazine many many times.
It is an honour to offer his illustrations to the clients of My Stylish French Box! Merci! (Please note that the images you see here are not the ones we’ll include in the box, we don’t want to spoil the surprise!)
So today I am happy to announce that we are offering the chance to not one but two of our readers to win this February box! ! The first time I visited Paris I had planned for years. The trip was a Christmas present from Husband. His best I might add. These little illustrations remind me so much of that time. Sharon, I’m subbed to your newletter for a while now and every single time I come across some news I delight in the incredible way they are presented. I can’t afford the box but of course I deeply want/wish for one – and I must have bought nearly all books ever produced by Sempé. We went to the exhibition in Paris some years ago and bought some the Petit Nicolas books – our guests and friends visiting us enjoy them tremendously. It is a great honour to you that you have been given the right to use some of his fine illustrations. He has such a subtle but quite black sense of humour and his work is breathtakingly intricated – and SO French and Parisien. I have to stop here because emotions are quite overcoming with so much promise, beauty, newness and – – look —- we’re already talking 2019! Blessings and thank you for the joy you share – I feel quite like sending you a photo of the 10 open amaryllis flowers of my ‘gift to myself’. The pot is sitting prettily next to an old wooden plant stand from England, laden with a natural & white ‘couronne’ and a white middle candle… So Sharon!!!

I lived in a France for a year in 1969 both in Provence and Fontenbleau. My husband and I were able to visit France yearly until he became disabled three years ago. Your blog transports me back there again and evokes France as I know it.

Went to France this summer with our 3 daughters and 5 of the grands. Love it so much. Spent a week in Lorgues, then through the lavender fields and back to Paris. A great experience with the family.

Have been enjoying your newsletter, blog and instagram posts for several years. Thanks for the frequent doses of French life!
I have only recently discovered your blog and the exquisite sounding boxes. The Discovery came soon after a time of great loss and sadness as my husband of 31 years took his life due to mental illness. The Discovery ( as I like to call it) helped me immensely in my time of utmost grief. I have adored all things French since my teenage years and so wish Australia and France were much much closer so I could visit frequently. I ordered a subscription for myself as a special treat and the February box for my daughter who will be married in July. She is a Francophile like myself, having done French Immersion at school. We are both so fortunate to have been able to visit Paris and France a few times. I can’t wait to receive my first box!

Well, huh, believe it or not, here I sit in the hospital while my husband has another test. He just received a new heart December 22, 2018. Now another year before we can travel. And where do we want to go? France, of course! Last time we went he was in heart failure and we thought he was just sick, so we missed quite a lot.
