[blank]Days are warm and nights are stormy this week, which may sound good but it is bad news for the peonies, out in full and heavy flower.
There is no choice but to cut the blooms and use them in the house.[blank]
[blank]Here I teamed the huge peony blooms with sprigs of climbing hydrangea, a few branches of cow parsley and the tips of lupins that were going to seed and needed cutting back.[blank]
[blank]
As usual, putting the bouquet together is a moment of true pleasure for me. A flowery interlude in a busy day, just enough to recharge my batteries and set me up for the next task to hand!

Now I was always told that bringing cow parsley indoors was bad luck, but you seem not to suffer so perhaps I'll pick some as I wander the lanes…

I never heard that about cow parsley! I use it all the time, sometimes just big bouquets of cow parsley with nothing else – love it!

The peonies are stunning…the silver lining for rain is bringing in the peonies. 🙂 I love the lupine texture contrast with the peonies. So, are you now sitting down for a cool drink and for reading a few pages? Looks very inviting…

That is just stunning… We are at the start of winter the roses not so good. The camellias are nearly finished all the flowers are on the ground thanks to the native birds that seem to be enjoying something that's in the flowers. Hi Sharon your bouquet is breathtaking I am jealous and can't wait for spring. You have inspired all of us to look at our gardens and imagine the possibilities. Stunning, Sharon. I'm sorry the weather is shortening the life span of your peonies, but you certainly made beautiful work of them. You're so talented. It's our roses that are flourishing this season, providing a steady supply of cuttings for my nightstand.

Your arrangement is gorgeous and inspiring. Like you, I enjoy my moments of creating bouquets from the flowers in my garden. It's my favorite homekeeping task, and a lovely, refreshing artistic moment in my day. I grow about 40 different types of peonies in my garden, so June is always a spectacular month for flowers! Your peonies are so gorgeous!!! We had a house once that had 9 bushes of peonies and every year I would fill the house with them. I love the way you arranged them on a beautiful table with drinks at hand to enjoy a break from the day!!
