The world of advertising brought me joy this week with the release of this beautiful ad for Louis Vuitton.
Slightly reminiscent of the Da VInci Code, but worth watching for the aesthetics.
You can watch the video below; my favourite part is actually this last shot of the hot air balloon rising into the Parisian sky above the Louvre, the grey roofs, the sunlight piercing through the clouds and of course the Eiffel Tower on the horizon.
I also adore their choice of model and her simple, very French and very chic attire. Her simple turtle neck top with mid length sleeves, a charming tweed skirt and of course the perfect bag, it is timeless.
How nice to see a model modelling, when these days we only seem to see actors in the top ads.
She is Arizona Muse, an American model who manages to look convincingly French. And besides her classical beauty, you have to admire her ability to run over the cobbled courtyard in those heels! I have walked around the Louvre often enough to know that wasn’t easy to perform!
You can see the whole video, which is only a modest one minute long here.
Paris, beauty and romance – it works for me, how about you?

loved everything about it. we just moved to paris..i'm still trying to walk in heels around the city without breaking my neck!
That's definitely an entertaining mini-video. I rather love the model's hair. I like your observation, too, of her French-look attire. Mostly, you're making me salivate for Paris. I could get on a plane right this very minute. My husband and I greeted the morning of our wedding by going up in a hot-air balloon over misty California vineyards. I have a soft spot for these other-worldly "aircraft."
An aside: I had the most interesting conversation with a quite-elderly woman at an art society fundraiser this past weekend (holiday boutique). She was a painter but had also gotten "into" jewelry-making and was displaying her lovely wares crafted from abalone shell. I asked her a bit about her life and career as she seemed so shy. I didn't realize in the moment that she was wheelchair-bound but she elaborated, not in a self-pitying tone, how her formerly-active artist's life had been curtailed by injury, so she was now painting from memory. She was Canadian by birth, U.S. American by circumstance and one great lover of American and French Impressionist artists. We spoke of Mary Cassatt, Winslow Homer, John Singer Sargent, Claude Monet…and, oh, how her eyes burned bright at the mention of Monet. I was glad I could contribute some conversation about Giverny from your recent posts…because this sparked the dear lady to talk about taking her daughter to see Monet's garden, apparently many, MANY years ago. She said, "Wasn't Monet a genius! When he aged and realized he could no longer easily hike around to paint 'in the field' (at a remote site, for a subject), he simply created his own 'world' in which to paint. He had daily inspiration for the canvas…mere footsteps from the necessary comfort and convenience of home!"
I hadn't known or thought of Monet's Garden in quite this way!
It works for me – I want that bag! And I have run over those pavers its no mean feat in those shoes.
I miss my turtle neck tops!, I love the first photo with a typical Paris scenery, having Eiffel tower at the horizon.
It also works for me too, great add lovely visuals of Paris too.
Those heels I couldn't walk in them let alone run across cobbles.

With Louis Vuitton ad campaign, you enter a dream world where fantasy is reality. Catherine Deneuve sitting next to her suitcase, framed by the engine of a large locomotive, or this fairy woman flying into the air. Beautiful drama, quite different from the reality of the overcrowded shopping experience in the paris flagship store
I'll take Paris and Louis Vuitton anytime. Love this campaign. I can't wait to receive their catalog on this campaign.
Beautiful video! Makes me want to fly to Paris and buy LV!
Sooo beautiful. Paris in every single way possible is just a dream. I never ever get tired of seeing it in all its many forms:)
she is about as beautiful as that image of the Louvre
It most certainly works for me. Can you imagine flying in a hot air balloon over Paris? Thanks for starting my day with this little bit of beauty! XO
Beautiful!!!!! I can not imagine something more french than this video wow !! I am italian but I definitly think that french are superb. Somebody can tell me who is the model? I adore her hair!!!! I want some pictures of her to bring to my hairdresser 🙂
What a great video ad for LV and they couldn't have picked a more beautiful model! I love the rouge, hot air balloon, it adds a great pop of color as it travels over Paris. Sigh….
That shot of the air balloon over Paris is gorgeous, but my very favorite is the picture of the model infront of the Mona Lisa. Two classic beauties.
I love the shot of the balloon over Paris. Malheureursement I cannot open the video – says it's been removed, on YouTube as well. Maybe something to do with Canada? Oh well, her outfit is pretty in the still photo, too.
Have a good day, Sharon.
the shoes in the photograph look like weapons!
.. how sad, the video has been removed … I saw the print ad … would have loved to see the video .. Karen in CT
beautiful atmospheric shots of Paris….gorgeous!!
Video is still appearing…… here in Canada.
I love ads that are simple like this one. Images and music that keep your attention throughout. The interesting shot is one beauty sitting looking at another beauty – it's timeless.
I too loved the models look. Very chic, elegant an so very French. I think her shoes, especially the golden tips, made the entire outfit very lively.
Vicki: I envy you the wedding hot-air balloon trip over California vineyards – one of my favorite places. It must have been wonderful to look down and see all the colorful fields. Just the image makes me want to go wine tasting.
Thank you Karen and Lorrie for pointing out the problem with the video – don't know why they closed it down – I have now replaced the link and it seems to be working again

I love an ad that tells a story although the Nicole Kidman full length Chanel No. 5 is still my all time favourite.

Beautiful way to start my day here in the South of France, thank you for sharing it. I loved it all, the filming, the music, the story, and of course the beautiful American model with a "French attitude!"
Very special, full of atmosphere and her hair looks so beautiful. I want that haircut too!It could also be a trailer for a James Bond movie.
Lot´s of love Babsi
Works for me + just saw the video, what a treat. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
Ahh, loved the photos as well as the video, which worked just fine for me. I love her hair as well. Arizona girl? So am I but this isn't me…oh but I wish!
What an amazing video, I don't personally care for a Luis Vuitton bag or the model, but the view of Paris…….. to die for.
Thank you for sharing with us!

I did it! I went to my coiffeur today and got that amazing Louis Vuitton haircut.
I have lost hair, a lot of hair, but it looks fabulous and it´s easy to handle. Now I have a chic french look. I´m very happy with that.
Thank you for posting video and photo.
Warmly french looking Babsi
Quite honestly, I am not drawn to LV’s product but more on the advertisement itself. But I must say it is a really good video. I like how the sights of Paris were shown and the technicalities of the video like the shots and lighting because it is visually appealing.
