[blank]Well I’m only about a decade behind the rest of the planet, but I am f-i-n-a-l-l-y on instagram, and having fun figuring it all out. There isn’t much to see for the moment because I only started this morning, but don’t worry, I’ll catch up fast!
With the brocante tour starting tomorrow, I’ll be posting to instagram all day long, so you’ll be able to see what we get up to.
In the meantime, I would really love to see hear how you use instagram … do you just snap and publish, or do you take your time with special effects and clever words? … and what about the hashtags, How important are they?
Any words of advice would be most welcome, plus of course if you leave your instagram address in your comment below, then I’d love to stop by and see you. I have a lot to learn![blank]

Just started following you … I am fairly new to IG as well … it is FUN! and so easy … you will LOVE it!! Have fun brocanting!! xo
I love Instagram! So glad to hear you've joined. It is really wonderful to see pictures from around the world. There are some very talented people out there and it's great to see their ideas and work. I use it mostly to show the natural beauty of nature surrounding me here in New Hampshire. I occasionally put photos of my family life and food on there 😀 While I'm not hashtag crazy like some people, sometimes I overdo it! You can find me there as: NHROCKY Looking forward to your instagrams
Yes! Excited to follow you. I use only one app – VSCOcam for all the best filters. Download it if you haven't already!
Sharon I am also way behind on this latest, and I know I must start using it very soon! Everyone I talk to has so much fun with the app and sharing immediately!
xoxo

Your home is so lovely:) My phone /camera..is a dinosaur:) So I ahve Instagram on my little Nexus..but it has a front camera..Boohoohoo.
super!
I'm not….but need to. Anyway I love the last picture of your home.

I just got on IG last week and love it .. The filters and effects are what make it fun. I just use the IG ones, but I see above that Amelia uses something else, which I will check out. Excessive hashtags are over the top for some. But I think they may be a marketing tool if you have a blog etc. Follow Vicki from French Essence, I think she organizes her photos by hashtags. I am Karen in VA, and will look for you.
Good luck, I feel better … thought I was the last one.
Karen in CT .. now VA
I am so happy everytime I see the front of your homw:)
I guess I've lost my marbles but I think instagram photos look like the old yellowing Polaroids. Yes, I'm old enough to have Polaroid photos in our family albums, and that may be part of the problem. I hate them now. 😉
Signed,
Wet Blanket
I'm even farther behind the rest of the planet, because don't use it. I, too, have an ancient phone, only slightly better than two tin cans and a long string. But now you've prompted me to look into IG at least.
Happy brocanting.
I dont instagram & am trying to figure out why people instagram also. How much " instant" info does society need ? Pretty soon people will have cameras attached on their body to track movements 24 hrs of the day…People who should instagram are world leaders but twitter feeds are enough on that. We live in a society where the techno media has created a world wide web techo society to generate sales through every other app. Thats my thought on Insta Life !!!
Nope. Don't use Instagram, and I haven't seen much to draw me to it. I find the photos all look alike after awhile. I'll stay in the background of technology.
I am one of the last ones to use instagram too! My children all use it and I finally decided I needed to keep up with technology so I got an iphone and am challenging myself to use it. Jealous of you getting to go brocanting but am anxious to see what you get! Enjoy!
Bonjour Sharon,
I have been following/enjoying your blog for sometime now. I spent a year living in Rouen and your posts serve as a sweet reminder. Just followed you on Instagram as well. Your images are breath taking. They transport me to another place. Everyday, I miss living there.

🙂
there is a lot to be said for old polaroids!
xx
I did the can and string thing for a long while but lost patience with the endless knots 🙂
xx
I think there'd be many to agree with you … maybe it'll just be a passing fad
you have a point Lorrie, I'll try to make mine fun 🙂
xx
thank you Eileen, I'll be trying to post pictures all through the day

Welcome to Instagram – you'll love it – I use it regularly – posting bits and pieces from everyday life which may not necessarily end up on my blog. It's instant (huh); it's spontaneous and I find it very satisfying – a quick creative fix. I use few words and hope the photos speak for themselves. I have just added you – so now a dedicated follower! Have fun. Fx
Bonjour Sharon!
Je suis nouvelle sur IG et bien que pas très au fait de toutes les possibilités, je suis déja accro!… Bonne chance!
Thanks for your very inspiring blog about French life. I am actually French but living in south-east England and don't have any of your talent to write about my life in your home country!…
Bonne brocante et à bientôt sur Instagram,
Françoise
Bonjour Sharon! I've only been using Instagram since the summer – still learning it as well. I will follow your adventures on Instagram. I'm lynnminnick on there 🙂
I am so happy to see you on IG….it is my favorite form of social media! Can't wait to see all of the pretty pictures you post….hope you follow me too @foundrentals
Sharon, I have just very recently started using Instagram. If I'm honest, my daughter did it for me, thought I'd like it. In most cases I enjoy seeing what other people put up as a quick snap of their life, or fabulous food, a pretty scene, a quirky thing. But sometimes when people put up personal images, it makes me feel a bit of a stalker, and I feel a bit like I've crossed a boundary. My daughter says they are happy to share. I guess we all have different boundaries! I put up images intermittently. I shall have to become more involved!
Love the photos of your garden! Thanks!
I enjoy your blog!

I do not have a smart phone, so no instagram. 🙁
I am new to instagram and started because my college age daughter put me on to follow her! I think it is fun and need to get more adept. I do love the effects! Follow me at marsha_cannon, I am going to go look for you now!
I will start following you! I am StaceyCaron23, if you are interested! xo
No, I too way behind………
This house photo is gorgeous!
I see I'm not alone with the Instagram thing. I signed up for it some time ago, got busy, forgot about it, & when I've tried to sign up numerous times, it gives me problems & won't let me on. So I gave up & I need to try now once again. Again Sharon, you've inspired me.
I do have Instagram and really enjoy posting bits of beauty! Even though I use it only a teensy bit! On the other hand my 17 year old uses it very often and I love how creative she is using it to post life in Santa Cruz or how she loves to cook beautiful and amazing food! Refraining from the selfie type post that is prevalent among her age group, she does record life from her youthful point of view!! Such a fun and creative tool to be used by so many different people of all walks of life!! I'm sure your posts will be inspiring as your blog!!
loving Instagram because it is the moment and less hassle than FB , I only started when I got my smartphone in June and if this possibly makes sense a little more personal than FB. I just post moments, ,my garden , have no idea how the hashtags work even though I have a twitter account as well , i love reading all the snippets of information – as I follow food trends and food related Tweets. On Instagram I follow people whose blogs I read. check out my Instagram gourmetgoddesspantry . Looking forward to your great photos.

Hi Sharon
I am interested in reading how longtime bloggers are now using/incorporating instagram, facebook etc with less emphasis on content/narrative. How does this impact on the purpose/readership of their blogs?
Sharon, I just started using instagram last month when I got my new iphone. Fun taking daily snaps and sharing a more personal side of life. The hashtags help others to find you through searches I believe. I am still learning. So fun to see the photos from your tour. I will be on my first brocantes tour starting the 19th and will also be instagramming I hope.
I guess i need to get on instagram also I do good keeping up with my blog which I love reading blogs daily
I may check into it since seems like several gals mentioned have iphones which I have now
I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures on my Instagram feed. It's a good visual way to start the day.
Cheers!
