summer evening joy

by Sharon Santoni
Few pleasures more simple yet more pleasurable
than an evening bike ride, en famille.
Gentle colours, sweet perfumes, empty lanes, happy chatter.
I know I’m lucky ……
wheat fields, freshly cut hay, an abandoned house I’d love to get my hands on, a peaceful lake, country pleasures that do us good!

So lovely, we live in the country, but it is what is termed "Semi Rural" although real country is only a short walk away.I love the sights the sounds and the smells! yes it does us good. I feel sure it is how we were meant to live, without the drone of traffic, and endless concrete roads.

Just looking at those pictures made me calm…how incredibly beautiful. Reminds me a little of when we were in Napa Valley and we would take a sunset bike ride past all the wineries, it was the next best thing to heaven, it was so breathtaking and still and peaceful. Agreed..doesnt' get much better than that:)

Absolutely divine. I can always come here and find exquisite countryside views…so refreshing to see landscapes free of "progress,"…no trucks, diggers, cranes, and caterpillars.

I totally agree Sharon….and I have been wanting to tell you how my daughter is teaching herself how to ride our Perchron English all by herself…it's so amazing –

I love a country bike ride….unless that stray dog that lives around the corner thinks my bike is the enemy – ha! –

have a great Sunday!!

I would love to be there, we have discussed moving, but I do not know how my electrician non French speaking partner would fund our lifestyle!!

Beautiful colors, beautiful photos, beautiful blog.

I only wish Blogger would stop acting up! Having the same problem here. One solution for your readers is when prompted to sign in on Google to leave comments, uncheck the box that says "stay signed in". Has worked for me.

Beautiful pictures Sharon. I live in a rural area as well and every day when I drive down my little road and see the mountains, canefields and majestic rivers – I have to pinch myself for being so lucky. ;)Sharyne

These photos are so gorgeous! Your valley seems idyllic. There's nothing like a summer sunset over a wheat field, is there?
