a french address for brocante

by Sharon Santoni
While the brocante fairs are put on hold at this time of year, I have to satisfy my craving for finding treasure elsewhere.  Local suppliers are among my favourite haunts, but sometime soon I shall jump in my car and drive to this amazing place for the day.
Up in the north of France, heading towards Belgium is Bruxelles Antiques, where they have taken the concept of a store to a completely different level.   The owners, who are also expert in decoration,  welcome their clients individually and help them in their choice,  To complement the store and  encourage their shoppers  to hang around they have a restaurant on site.

It looks to me like a great place for a day trip with a couple of girlfriends, or maybe I could persuade my husband to take me there for lunch!  But it is over 2 hours from us, he may not leap for joy at that idea!

Voila!  A few images to get us dreaming and moving in the right direction at the start of the year.  I hope you have some fun projects lined up too!

Ah, so much beauty for the new year. Well, I think that they would have a problem if I came to visit as I would refuse to leave! For once I am not exagerrating when I say that I am in love with every single room. Just gorgeous! Speaking of, par hazard I clicked on to your post "feeling considerably younger" and really, truly? You are just as lovely as I knew you must be and would really encourage you to stop hiding in your profile picture! You and Tish are two peas in a pod and it just silly when you are such beautiful women. Just a thought.

I love everything – but the metal doll house is, of course, what I would really like to have.

Happy New Year! If I lived 2 hours from a store like that I would jump in the car and be there in a heartbeat, enjoy your trip. And while you are up that way, would you mind picking up a dining table just like the one in the photos…pretty please?!

I absolutely swooned when I saw this place. I could move in there tomorrow. I keep going back and dwelling on it, what is it that makes it so beautiful? Could I adopt the essence of it in my own home somehow? I think it is unique to France though, and somehow would not translate well to the West Coast of Canada. Thank you for the dreaming material. I love your blog, it's the first one I look at every day.
