Running late last weekend with friends invited over for supper in front of the fire. No time to do anything fancy on the table … I simply grabbed the patissons and mini pumpkins from the garden with a few dahlia heads stood individually in liqueur glasses, some autumn leaves from my neighbour’s virginia creeper and some candles in cake moulds stood in moss-filled pots.
As a table runner I found a piece of antique linen with some pumpkin orange ribbons sewn down the center, and that. was. it. !
What have you come up with recently for decorating a table in a hurry?

Beautiful tablescape. Love the soft light with the pumpkins and flowers. Hugs, Marty
Lovely, Sharon! That antique linen looks perfect with the autumn bounty from your garden. I'm a fan of white pumpkins and fall lives on the table this time of year. Hope you are having a wonderful week. XO
Great tablescape! Good idea for a autumn centerpiece!
this is beautiful, never mind the hurry!
Sharon,
Beautiful tablescape! I love simple and elegant arrangements using the bounty of the day. How lucky for you to have such cute little pumpkins in your garden!
Have a wonderful day, Elizabeth
If that's what you come up with in a pinch, there's no way I could even begin to compete with your tablescapes in a hurry. It's so pretty and festive. I think you would make a wonderful designer!
I think if that happened to me, I would just get a selection of hard Normandy cider, and display the bottles "artistically" on the table… Nobody in their right mind would notice any other detail on the table, that's for sure 🙂 Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
What a pretty table, love all the paler colors as opposed to the usual bright orange which I am not terribly fond of. Lovely!
Fall is a wonderful time to gather from nature to create something pretty. Your table is so lovely!
XO,
Jane
A beautiful tablscape Sharon!
Tout ce que j'aime se trouve sur cette table merveilleuse

I have some lovely white damask tablecloths from my Mother that I love to use as they drape onto the floor giving my table a sophisticated old world elegance. Beeswax candles lit in silver, crystal and french flower buckets filled with fresh roses….or greenery seems perfect for all year round!
I have white porcelain dishes, silver and linen napkins….my guest feel special when I set such a table.

So simple and so superb – brava Sharon – this is just lovely. Fx
Really elegant; just beautiful!
Nothing prettier than this, that's for sure! I love all of your ideas…sometimes these "thrown together" table settings end up being my favorites! This certainly is!
Gosh! I feel self conscious now ((:
Never mind last minute, could I even do this with lots of time?
Very lovely, xoxo Z
Bisous
Goodness me – if this is what you come up with in a hurry, your 'planned' tabelscapes must be incredible! Actually – forget that, I already KNOW that your planned table settings are absolutely incredible – you have exquisite taste.

Simply stunning Sharon! You work well under creative pressure I must say. So warm & inviting. Lucky guests!
For myself, recently, in a hurry, I found a package of canvas placemats that I had forgotten about from about 15+ years ago. I got out my paints & somewhat replicated the soft blue-green color washes of my walls with a rag & old brushes. Then I softly applied wisps of green, blue, white & light brown leaves here & there to complete. Sealed the surface & it was done. There was no time for a new centerpiece, so I left what I already had there.
Now that my lemons are bearing fruit in my garden, I shall use them as a simple centerpiece in a bowl.
Hi – spied your blog on A Beach Cottage and came right over. First thing that caught my attention was your French Country home and your Golden Retriever!
Wonderful! Will keep looking – thank you –
