french christmas comes early

by Sharon Santoni

As if to reassure myself that there is still plenty of time to prepare for christmas, I take pleasure in thinking about packing gifts and decorating the house – the thinking demands so much less effort than the doing ….

A few ideas from some of my favourite french blogs.
Not looking for heavy and over laden, more for clean cut and bright…
what do you think of these ideas

Hi Sharon,

I totally agree with you! I don't know…maybe it's living in Europe for the past 24 years (Crete), but I prefer to start decorating starting on the first day of December. Kind of like a countdown to the big day.

I LOVE the red and white (favourite colour combo – all year round AND around my house!) mantelpiece and your rustic bark/berry beauties, complete with the perfect cherry red and white ribbon!

Hope you'll drop by and say 'hi'!

Poppy

Love your ideas and agree that sometimes the planning is just as – or more – fun than the actual doing! I'm gathering my ideas and putting my list together this week, but am looking forward to decking the halls! XO

Good day! This is kind of off topic but I need some help from an established blog.

Is it hard to set up your own blog? I'm not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I'm thinking about setting up my own but I'm not sure where to begin. Do you have any points or suggestions? Thanks

I love the clean, bright, fresh look of the first image/photo with the pops of red from the twigs and the snowflake. I've been using a lot of glass and pastels in recent Christmas holidays but I'm feeling a yen to get back to some red. Red, white and silvers in combinations/trios look good to me right now.

The top photo is so pretty. I agree {aside from time spent with family} the seasonal activities and preparation leading up to the big day is lots of fun. The traditional colors natural decor is my favorite. The neutrals with the pop of red is perfect 🙂
