table centre for a pre-christmas lunch

by Sharon Santoni
A lovely day today with a pre-christmas christmas lunch
for some very special friends.

busy
busy
busy
but I thought you may like me to share
this idea for a simple table center
mini antique garden pots,
lined with something waterproof and used as vases
for some darling mini roses and of course some mistletoe
for the candles I tied a few stencil numbers to form
a sort of advent calender down the table centre,

can’t decide if I prefer the numbers tied with ribbon or with string…
any ideas?

Thank you for reading me, I wish you all
a happy Sunday en famille!

Just heavenly, Sharon. The string looks more rustic to me which goes with those lovely vases filled with the mini roses and mistletoe.
Anything that reminds me of advent is the 'reason for the season' and I love it!

Beautifully decorated! I love the jars tied with the red ribbon, it adds a pop of color to the jars. 🙂

Lovely warm and inviting centerpiece. I feel the string tie is a better match for the stenciled piece; clever votives, great idea! I really like them.

let's try again 🙂

ribbons over string or maybe that lacy tape that is used as borders?
I do not speak from experience of such matters, being too tied-up in cybercrime at this time (fighting, not committing) however I seem to recall seeing rolls of it in the wool shop in town once, so fresh, white lacy tape…

Lovely table, I think that the string looks so much nicer with the rustic pots and the ribbon is trying to compete with the roses. No matter what you decide your friends will no doubt enjoy the lunch.

cheers

I definitely prefer the string. I think the red ribbon takes away from the color of the flowers.

Lovely….I think I am leaning toward the string, but do like that ribbon. What is the tablecloth? I love it.

I prefer the string. Maybe you can leave the one rouge red ribbon candle just for fun.

I like the ribbon, myself. I like the fact that it ties in the color of the roses and glows with the candles, and looks so warm and cheerful and inviting and holiday seasonish….Especially if it's cold and bleak outside, I like color inside! Both look charming of course! Your blog is such a consolation, thank you so much for it!
