Oh Sharon, too cute!! 😀 Next to our MacDuff, these have to be my favorite pooches ever. I can't resist asking 'cause I just have to know: How did Ghetto get so wet? 🙂

Have a wonderful day in the country.

I love dogs .. They are just full of such wonderful character they can't help but makes you smile and laugh even sometimes when they aren't the best behaved. Your Golden reminds me of my Scout and Maggie. I lost them both in the last 2 years ..Maggie made it to 14 yrs of age and Scout to a ripe 17 years almost record breaking for a Golden she was amazing. Now we have a new Girl Flossie ..a Springer Spaniel ..and she's such a joy. I don't think I could live without a dog in my life they bring such joy.

Thanks for sharing ..
Blessings ..Sara

I'm afraid to say that he high tailed a deer through the forest and took a shortcut through a muddy ditch! Happy days!

Could be alot worse. My WFT used to roll in mud or a dead animal every time we gave him a bath. Guess he didn't like the shampoo smell. So your pictures brought back treasured memories. Thanks

Haha I can relate. We have a Jack Russell, need I say more? She's trouble all the time and doesn't care either. Lets just say she's not a people pleaser. I love your little trouble maker! Who can be mad at that face?

I have been considering getting another dog now after our poodle was killed by a can toad about 10 years ago – he was 7!! and I keep seeing the cutest dogs everywhere I go, and admit I love the more mischievous ones!! They can be fun, and a bit of a headache too!?The trouble is, like having children, you don't know what you're going to get!!!!

I am sitting here giggling … these photos are priceless and so is your little scamp , all wet and muddy. What in the world did he get into ?
I am back in the US and dreaming of a new house ( we are in the midst of the house hunt) and of the new pup that will become a member of the family.

What is a can toad?
How could you do without a dog for 10 years?? Oh please! adopt a rescue poodle!! There are so many who need homes!

(I have had a poodle for almost my whole life! I now have 3 "Corgi mix rescues"; and I adore them…..but the idea of a poodle lover without a poodle……..fills my heart with sadness! I met the greatest poodle on the beach the other day! His owner died! And this darling woman has him! "Standard Poodle rescue" on "pet finders"!
YIKES!!!

Ghetto "takes the cake." He's definitely the ring leader.

I had a cocker spaniel who once got hold of a roll of toilet paper out of the bathroom and proceeded to "decorate" my entire house while I was at the office. He was the same guy who liked to nap under the Christmas tree, only to stand up, stretch and rub his back on the lower branches…taking the entire tree with him, breaking my best ornaments and draping his head with colored lights. (We learned to tie the tree to the ceiling after that incident.) But then there was the time when he and his follower-sister (who never dreamed up escapades and preferred sleeping) RACED through the house at breakneck speed as my husband attempted the labor-intensive task of cleaning out the oversized fish tank in the living room…several species of (expensive) fish temporarily held in a large bucket…which he should have done the week BEFORE we'd had the carpet shampooed…both dogs slamming hard into the filled and heavy bucket, several gallons of water spilled instantly, live fish scattered everywhere as we tried to catch their jumping, slithery bodies with our hands before the dogs gobbled them up (we saved all fishies but one, which I thought was quite a success; however, to my husband who was the fish enthusiast, one was too many).

Oh, the stories I could tell…

My cousin sent me something once…some quotes she'd gotten somewhere…"If I Didn't Have Dogs…" and part of it went like this: "If I didn't have dogs, all flat surfaces would be free of hair; the most-used words in my vocabulary wouldn't be SIT, STAY, DOWN, NO; I would not have as many leaves INside my house as OUTside; but, if I didn't have dogs, part of my soul would remain unawakened, I'd go through life emptier having never known the unconditional love and devotion of canine companions, and I would miss out on a whole lot of laughs and fun."

All of your blog entries are wonderful, but the ones posted about Gibson and Ghetto steal my heart! Our female Golden, Bella, just swallowed her rabies tag (she gobbles anything she thinks is food); now we wait to see if she "passes" it –

Oh, my, what a dual they make! We have a golden retriever that wouldn't DREAM of getting into trouble, because she is very shy and timid – perhaps she needs a little sidekick like Ghetto to help her loosen up a little! Gibson seems to be taking it all in stride. He keeps his innocent look as if saying, "Look at me! I'm a good dog! I'm a good dog!"

The first picture had me busted out laughing, somehow I have a feeling Ghetto was up to some of his old tricks. He looks so adoreable even when he's muddy and wet. Gibson is determined not have any of Ghetto's high jinxs rubbed off on him.

Sorry, Cane Toad!! They're a really ugly blistered looking toad/large frog!! They squirt poison into the mouths/eyes of their victim if they are feeling threatened!! They are common in Australia!!
Guess what I got today?……A 'Moodle'!!(Maltese/Poodle cross)he, he Unfortunately she wasn't a rescue dog 🙁 I spotted her on an internet search, but she was kinda a rescue, as the owner who purchased her couldn't keep her because of her daughters allergies!!The weird thing is I said she looked like an Isabelle, and later asked my son what we should call her and he said 'Isabella' and when I asked the previous owner what she had called her and she said……'Ella'!!! SOLD!!!

Oh……this is so spooky! Just take a deep breath and prepare. I could barely sleep I was so upset about your poodle……..
This qualifies as a complete rescue…….(the dog does not have to be in the "pound" to be rescued!)
Although often that is the case!

I am so happy for you that you have a dog!
Here is the spooky part! My mother's name was Ella; (she "went up" in 1981! My daughter's name is "Ella" also!

Born in 1970! (she must have known I wasn't good at Math!)

OH!!

This was yesterday! And it IS a rescue! Her owners gave her up! That totally qualifies as a rescue!!
am ecstatic for you!

I think the "hole in your heart" when you lose a dog; has to be filled very soon; because there are millions (I wish I were exaggerating) "killed " every year in shelters. Millions.

That is the funniest name for a dog I have ever heard!

Please share!

And,as I said, totally relate to him! "Black Sheep"

I turned out OK! And so did he!!!

(I am assuming "Ghetto" is a male!

I should have named my first "Georgie" "Ghetto" !

Darn…..I didn't think of it! That is where I rescued her! And the LA "gang members" helped me save this little dog!" And that is the truth!

I have to come back and read these comments! I am up to late again! But that "ghetto" reminds me of myself!

I was always up to "mischief!" Still am! Kinda proud of it!

My favorite nickname is "Mrs. Mischief" given by my angel client! Charlie Munger!

Just last day posted a blog on it!

XXOO

I adore that dog! And, let's face it…..a "Golden Retreiver"?

No Golden has ever done anything wrong!

No fair!

I adore them both!!
