[blank]After the long winter it feels positively luxurious to be able to compose bouquets from the garden and surrounding fields. [blank]
[blank]
[blank]As the lilac starts to fade here it is the turn of the Hawthorn tree (or May, as the British aptly name it) to come into flower.[blank]
[blank]Tight small buds of white, crimson or pink, it is a lovely tree with an easily recognised perfume.[blank]
[blank]I grabbed some from a field as I walked down from the forest this morning, then added some purple tinged grasses, a few blades of barley and some splashes of purple from the garden, in the form of lilac, irises and wisteria.[blank]
[blank] The result is a very relaxed looking ‘basket of flowers, whose beauty will be short lived, but appreciated even the more for it.[blank]

Simply beautiful. I wish I could smell it. 🙂
Very beautiful!
"Cast ne'er a clout till May be out." Old Irish saying.
Also the May tree was the fairy tree, considered bad luck in Ireland to bring it indoors…but who cares about such old superstitions, it is gorgeous.
so beautiful !
"Cast nay a cloot till May is oot" can be heard spoken in a broad burr echoing all over Scotland at this time of year. True enough, the weather never really picks up till June, after the traditional Easter snow and hailstones the size of golf balls.
Looks like the weather is much more clement for you Sharon!
Lovely compositions..beautiful arrangement!
swoon…
quel charme!
Hi Sharon I'm not going to say too much just how lovely your floral arrangements are and to request that when you get enough time between the family and the running around that you put all these beautiful works into a book. Regards Esther from Sydney. It's cold and wet over here the Camellias are a delight at the moment.
Sharon, this is swoon-worthy to say the least. How absolutely glorious & you certainly do have a way with these arrangements.

Picture perfect, sometime the simple things are the most beautiful. Although it is probably your expect hand to make it look this way.
