[blank]The thing about star quality is that either you have it or you don’t.
Ghetto is sure he has it, which is why he always has to be the highest![blank]
[blank]We think that Gibson has it, and we tell him so, often ….
and that way everyone is happy[blank]
[blank]Out and about early again this morning at a country fair. Found some good stuff, for myself and for a client … it was a chair day. Lucky I was driving a big car, because I came home with 5 armchairs and 2 small chairs. Just love the bare look of the stripped chairs, and the pink one will be recovered.[blank]
Besides that I found quite a few plates,[blank]
[blank]and some lovely vintage fabric[blank]
[blank]a beautiful bone carving set[blank]
[blank]and some whimsical coffee pots and clock faces[blank]
[blank]Hope you have had a lovely weekend,
thank you for reading me.[blank]

WOW you totally SCORED some awesome treasures – but no doubt your two beautiful fine furry friends are the best treasures shown here. They're precious.
Well done, Sharon!
What do you do with all the chairs? I love chairs and now find that no one wants them. Just curious.
Love your photo shoot. Your pups are adorable!

Look at those handsome little faces – so sweet.
Great pieces you discovered – I like the blue and white tureens, and the large lantern sitting on the right.
Living vicariously through you as you shop for brocante in France…

Love the last photo of Gibson peeping through the chairs! They must get excited when they see all the loot being unpacked and know that their big opportunity to be model mega-stars is coming up, so they hang around to be a part of all the fun!
You did well!
Cheers,
Deborah from Melbourne.
Love your finds. I just love Ghetto as you know, but the last photo of Gibson is his best picture yet. What beautiful eyes.
LOL, Gibson looks very proud to be in a portrait with the two chairs! You had quite the spree – love it.

Wow Sharon, you scored some AMAZING treasures!!! I love them all!! Of course, Gibson and Ghetto are always my favorites. 🙂 The last picture is just adorable.
Have a great week!

Your finds are wonderful, Sharon, but your Ghetto and Gibson are absolutely mesmerizing!! I never can delete any posts with their photographs. And the gorgeous horses with Gibson in your new header: spectacular!!! Give them each a pet for me and greeting from Henry (a Golden Retriever) and Bob (a Long-Haired Dachshund)
I love your blog. This morning I noticed the plates and to my surprise noticed the one with the rose in the middle. I have one just like it and inherited it from my Mom and Dad. They" received it as a wedding gift in 1939. Yours looks somewhat translucent but maybe it is the lighting in the photo. We live on the West Coast of BC which is where they were married. My plate is made in Germany.
Gorgeous!!
Love Helen xx
Hey, Elizabeth/"Contessa"…yes, indeed, I saw these shots yesterday…..and immediately copied two of them to a folder. I intend to "do" the one of Gibson between the two chair arms (shhhhh….top secret from Mme. de la Santoni; it'll be her Christmas present).
Sharon wrote to me yesterday, effusively thanking me for "Lavender Dreams" (of Gibson and Ghetto), which had just arrived at her house. I should make it very clear that, by painting her dogs and subsequently publicizing the thing on my website and that of my dog-art dealer, I immediately got three quite lucrative commissions (two American and one Canadian) from other Golden Retriever afficionados.
So….Nice Sharon gets a free picture…I enjoy doing the work….and the transaction brings me enough new work to pay three (almost) mortgage payments????? I call that Good Karma…."MFCH" style…..
Happily yours as ever,
David Terry

P.S. Just for the record?…..whenever I've "used" (i.e. paint a picture, using a photograph as the source) one of Sharon's or Heather Robinson's "Lost in Arles" photographs, I make a point on my website of clearly stating that the painting is derived from a photograph taken by one of the ladies….and I provide obvious, easy-links to the blogs themselves. To do otherwise (particularly given that both Sharon and Heather are strikingly talented photographers, with a fine eye for composition, in particular) would be s-t-e-a-l-i-n-g, as far as I'm concerned. One of the great pleasures of my daily life over the past three years has been discovering the "world of blogs" and doing my best to support/promote the ones I really admire,
Sincerely,
David Terry

I absolutely love your blog and love your market finds, but the thing I love the most is when you include your dogs in the photo shoots, you truly do treat them as family members. Such wonderful puppies, thank you for sharing them with us.

Oh, those dogs of yours never fail to put a big smile on my face, Sharon. Thank you for the marvelous photos of the canine stars as well as the brocante stars.
