[blank]One of the wonderful thing about taking pictures with a phone is that ‘Slightly-Out-Of-Focus’ can not only be interpreted as ‘Interestingly Artistic’, it also hides all manner of things, which is why I have tried a Selfie. I am told they are all the rage, although my children did look slightly nervous when I announced my intention of a Selfie post on the blog![blank]
So today I have one simple question for you: “Will you show me yours?! “[blank]
I know it takes guts to show yourself online. Heaven knows I have hardly ever done it myself, but I would love to have a wonderful visual collection of my readers here, so I am inviting you to send me a mailwith your selfie and I’ll add them all, gallery style, to this post below … you can either go under ‘anon’ or just a first name or, if you wish, I’ll caption you with your name and the name of your blog too.[blank]
Just a fun way to start the week …[blank]

PS. This is the next day and I am amazed and delighted at all your comments, and the astounding number of extremely kind emails I have received privately. Thank you so much. The thoughtfulness and generosity of my readers has never failed to surprise me.[blank]
And as for the gorgeous bunch below … well! What can I say?![blank]
We are indeed blessed ♥[blank]

xx

I always tell my husband I love a good blur!!!! It's funny, I took a picture recently of my daughter and I staring into the sun on my mom's back steps. I actually posted it on my sidebar, because it's the first photo I actually liked of myself….with an Instagram filter to hide a few freckles…..You are lovely!!!!
You are clearly lovely in or out of focus Sharon.
Dear Sharon, You are a beautiful woman. Your image makes me feel like I know you so much better now.
It seems we communicate for many years with some of our blog friends and would not know them if we sat next to them on an airplane.
Wonderful!

Exactly how I thought you'd look. as lovely as your blog. someone who writes with such feeling and it shows in your- selfie.
I agree… You are beautiful and have GORGEOUS eyes.
I am afraid I am still limping along with an old cell phone that doesn't even have a camera. I haven't much use for one anyway. I go months without using it.
Sharon, I love this photo of you!
You are gorgeous!!!!
You are always full of great ideas!!!!
Love you!
Sharon you are just the prettiest thing…I love this idea and can't wait to see the sweet faces of bloggers I love!

Selfies? Um….I gotta go do something with my hair. And face. Lemme get back to you…..
You have a classic beauty, one that will remain through all your years.
As for me posting a selfie…maybe when phones have a cubism app.
Ancient flip-top phone, no selfies. Lemme see if I can find a snap that's on line. Or maybe not. 🙂
Beautiful picture, so happy to see the person behind the blog! I agree with many of the comments above – lovely eyes, lovely skin, classic beauty, and perfect shade of lipstick.

WOW. That's all I have to say. (oh yeah, GORGEOUS).
I don't think I've ever seen a picture of you that you didn't look great.
My blog profile picture is a selfie – it's true. Ok, I had to take a couple to get something that didn't look like I was afraid of my own iphone – but it worked. {my daughter would cringe to read this}

Beautiful inside and out!!
As others have mentioned, it's great to see the face behind the blog.
I tried to get a decent photo; even did my hair! But no luck.
I'd sent a photo, but the account wizard and my OS don't get along. Email address?
Inside and out!
beautiful 🙂
Oooh, I KNEW it!! I thought of you after meeting Tish…both of you "hiding" behind your mysterious photos…and yet both completely beautiful. And such a warm expression behind those gorgeous eyes, one that says "I can't believe that I am going to do this!"
Will email you mine now…
Gros Bisous,

I like "Karena Albert"s comment. I once (back in pre-googling days) had to sit for two hours on a New York-to-Raleigh airflight, right NEXT to a large man who kept discussing his work and asking about mine. I realized, within about a minute, that he was the writer whose last book I had reviewed (two weeks previously and in the state's most influential newspaper). I'd concluded the review with the observation that he was obviously trying for some very shopworn (at least by my standards) "techniques"…..but that, in the end, his collection of short stories "resounded with all the profundity of a dial-tone".
I know…….very clever (I was proud, at the time I wrote it, of that line)……but so mean. He was, after all, only in his mid-twenties. Of course, I was only in my mid-thirties.
I also discovered that he was to be a dinner that night to which I., also, was invited. I got out of that invitation within ten minutes of entering my house.
In any case, I've since remained utterly committed to the practice of NOT figuring out who is sitting next to me on an airplane.
Warily yours as ever,
David Terry
