feeling forever chic

by Sharon Santoni

Oh my goodness … forget the Christmas shopping, forget the baking and the wrapping, I have stopped everything because I just received my copy of Forever Chic, the wonderfully entertaining book by my friend Tish Jett.

I had actually ordered a copy waaaay back, but foolishly happily gifted it to a girlfriend, not realising that it had turned into an overnight best seller,  and had sold out and that I would have to wait a while before getting another copy for moi!

But all that is forgotten now, and this morning when the postman brought my parcel,  I made myself a pot of coffee,  and sat down to enjoy every single page.  My first impression was  how pretty  the book feels.  Of course I love the cover , but inside there are loads of little illustrations and touches of colour that make it feel light-hearted and feminine.

Tish shares with us all the top secret information that she spent so long extracting from France’s greatest experts.  Whether it is skin care, weight control, wardrobe maintenance or how a lady should behave, Tish has nailed it all.

She writes in her lovely amusing and down to earth style that we know so well from her blog A Femme d’un Certain Age.  She mixes in french phrases and words and it just feels like she is sitting and chatting with me – I love it!  She made me laugh out loud, and more importantly she pushed me to  make new resolutions,  in the hope that I will also become Forever Chic.

Thank you Tish – we are blessed to have you!!

If you’d like to get a copy of Forever Chic for yourself, your sister or your best friend, then pop over to Amazon or Barnes and Noble where I am glad to see it is back on the shelves!!

Just gave a copy to a good friend for an early Christmas gift last night, but so far I’ve neglected to order one for myself. I flipped through hers a bit though, and it looks fabulous. She was very pleased to receive it, and I will be ordering my own!

How well do you write about your friend’s book! I have just ordered it from the US because it does not seem to be available in France (a pity) and I long to read it!

Have you been informed that Franck and Cécile organise a party next saturday in their brocante shop? with candle light, hot wine… and probably the unforgettable chocolate cake. It sounds great!

I enjoy reading your blog every day, thanks so much for it!

Thanks for the tip on this book. I have been reading it and loving every single page. As I tell my friends, I became “frenchified” 26 years ago when I met husband. I have read a great deal of books on the French lifestyle (& of course, Frenchwomen). This book offers a lot of novel ideas and suggestions. Merci encore. Joyeux Noel et Bonne Annee!
