from my bedroom window

by Sharon Santoni

Don’t you just love those crisp mornings at the turn of a season.  The mornings where you fling open your window, no matter the temperature, and breathe deeply, just for the pleasure of feeling the change in the air.

This morning was just like that.   I opened the curtains to bright sunshine, grass twinkling with a heavy dew, and birds yelling to each other to make the most of it all.

Our magnolia has bloomed during the week, and it lights up the garden like an electric lamp.

I hauled a garden seat beneath the tree just because the perfume of the flowers is so intoxicating.  My intention being  to bring a coffee outside and take five scented minutes alone to plan my day ….

but by the time I came back out, coffee in hand, Gibson and Ghetto had moved in and my seat was covered in wet paw prints ….  they said they thought I’d like some company  ….

hey ho!  next time I’ll remember to bring a cushion!

What a gorgeous way (or intention) to start the morning. Looks like the puppers had the same idea.

My Japanese Magnolia (what we call ’em in Georgia) hasn’t bloomed yet but I can enjoy yours while I wait!

With the way you write Sharon, I visualize every scent, feel many of the same emotions & chuckle at your cute pups. What a beauty of a tree! X

What a wonderful morning! I’m often inspired to do just as you’d planned, but something tends t happen to derail my pleasant intentions. My real life is much busier than my dreamed-of life!

What a beautiful sight to begin your day with! Always love your pups and their poses! They,of course, were grateful that you pulled the bench under the tree just for them! If not,we would have missed out on this darling pic! Thank you Sharon and G and G!

You are so far ahead of us when it comes to spring blooms.

The snow is finally melted (we had the WORST winter this year!), but I have yet to see any buds on the trees…………one crocus popping up in my garden.
I guess they will just “spring” up on us when we are not looking!

Happy spring. xo

So unbelievably beautiful! I’m so jealous too as we had MORE snow last night & this morning on the first day of Spring. I so want to see green grass, pink apple blossoms, Rembrandt tulips blooming in my garden. Thank you for sharing your beautiful gardens with us!

Hi Sharon, so lovely to see these photos of your Spring morning – a breath of fresh air on my dry Autumn day here on the other side of the world. Queensland is in the grip of a terrible drought with 80% of the state now drought declared. We have good bores and our improved pastures are holding up well so we are among the few lucky ones. It is always a pleasure to visit your blog, thank you so much for all of your posts. Best wishes from Amanda

Canine harbingers of spring…I love it!! After so much inside time during the winter, my two dogs want nothing more than to go outside with me when the sun comes out. Thank you for the inspiring post, Leslie

I had the same magnolia tree in our first house. It was next to our gazebo and brook. Did not bloom long, but so fragrant and dainty!!!!! Now, when I look out my bedroom window, I see several feet of snow on our front lawn, view is the same at every window. I remember in December how beautiful the first snowfall was. PRETTY MUCH OVER THAT NOW!!! So it was a treat to see your magnolia tree in bloom. Brought back great memories. I live in New Brunswick, Canada… Guess what I would be sooooo excited to see now!!!!! GRASS!!!!! It is going to be a while !!!!!!! But I will dance a little dance when I first see it. And btw….love receiving your wonderful emails!!!!!

Each season is beautiful but I think spring is my favorite. Your magnolia tree is just lovely in bloom. Our spring is going to be very late this year…we still have lots of snow on the ground so I enjoyed sharing in your beautiful spring morning.
