a little thank you from me to you …

by Sharon Santoni

Today I have received my 100,000th like on facebook!!!   This is totally astounding , and I am very grateful to everyone who stops by to check on the pictures I show.  I have never bought a like, or even asked anyone to come and like me, this has all just happened on its own.

On the facebook page I show my own photos, but also pictures that inspire me from elsewhere, often tumblr.  Little shots of beauty to make our days a little sweeter.

To thank everyone for their amazing support, I have a small giveaway for you.  I shall be gifting each of the antique plates in the pictures here, to four readers drawn randomly next Monday.

These plates are each about 100 years old, they were originally designed as part of a dinner service.  Today they are pretty in a bathroom, or with jewellery ….. or cherries ….. whatever ….. it is really up to you.

To take part in the giveaway, just leave a comment here or on the My French Country Home  facebook page.

You are welcome to enter the giveaway more than once, simply spread the news and come back to tell me if you have shared on facebook, twitter or instagram.

I love all your pictures and have painted two of them that you posted quite a while ago. A white building with pink climbing roses and an old stone archway over a road leading to a village. They came out very nicely. I have them on the wall in my lounge.
Thank you for your pictures.

I also am an ex-pat living in Switzerland. Our brocantes are called, brocki’s, with names like Brokenhaus, Brockito, Brockiland or Brockenstube. My finds are very Swiss, alpine-like. Transfer-ware was abundant when I first arrived and is now getting more expensive. I do have a lovely collection. There is a black and white German transfer-ware that is stunning. I would adore one of your little French plates. They are not as easy to find in CH. I like your blog and look forward to reading it.

Reply

Sharon my favorite colour has always been blue and the plates you show are truly sweet, simple and look as though they have been loved by families down through the years. I love their shape. I have six blue luncheon plates only that are white with a blue ivy pattern and some blue bricks as thought the ivy is growing on this brick wall. Love using them. My first good dinnerware was blue and white and over the years I had enough plates to serve over 30 people as we entertained a great deal. Since then I have given a dinner set for six to my son and his wife, a dinnerset for six to a grandson and his wife, and a dinner set for 8 to my daughter and her husband…they have 8 children but only three now living at home. Each recipent have loved the dishes as much as I did and it is wonderful when family/friends gather around the table for a meal, a repasse, tea, etc. and say ‘Grace’ to thank Our Good Lord for the family, friends and the abundance.
Your post reminds me that you do the same for family/friends and truly I love your floral arrangements and simple, thoughtful posts. Thanks for the giveawy opportunity.
Gratefully,

My dear Sharon
Many many Congratulations and joyfulness at reaching your one hundred thousand likes!
So well, I remember the day I found you……..less than one year ago….on a remote pinterest board there was a photo from your ‘piscines and pools’…it was literally an aha moment for me.
I feel blessed to be in touch each day with your beautiful exquisite blog and am inspired beyond words. Thank you from my heart for all you give, each and every day.
I live sometimes on the cote d’azur, the remainder in England…and work in the creative world so I sense a kindred spirit..
Much love to you xx

This lovely website was sent to me this morning by my dear neighbor/friend. I will definately frequent it often and love the plates as they remind me of my grandmother who gave me my first piece of Curry & Ives to collect. Your blog is lovely and congratulations on having 100,000 friends already! 🙂 You have many lovely arrangements that I will put in my decorating ideas. Thank you!
