french chairs and other treasures….

by Sharon Santoni

My September brocante tour comes to an end tomorrow ….  I have been fortunate to spend the past five days with a group of remarkable and totally charming women from all over the world.chair 2

We have shopped …. I mean we have SHOPPED like there was no tomorrow …. in barns … in fields …. in fairs … in Paris ….in Normandy …. in warehouses …. we have left the beaten track and found our very own path to tread and I have loved to see my clients smile as we discover another amazing supplier, with a  unique and personal approach, as we find an amazing bargain, or are invited into a beautiful home ….

So today, as I am invited by Anita of Cedar Hill Farmhouse to talk about French chairs, I thought I would just show you a selection of some of the chairs  that we have spotted on our route over the past five days.

I love every one of those chairs. I don’t know how you decide what to keep and what to sell.

Chairs, glorious chair! Especially the first one, lovely colors and lines. And I, too, like the chair and settee with the half-caned backs, very nice.

I just love French chairs, chairs are so much fun, I know me, I would go nuts being there with all the wonderful choices. I am so seeking some “twin” beds. I am still kicking myself over some Baker antigue twin beds in old turquoise paint, very French, that slipped out of my hands one time. I haven’t found anything like them again. They were $850. and what a good buy for the quality, patina, and what I wanted. Lesson, better get it when you can and see it! hee hee, love your blog, still wish I could buy those poppies in your garden to plant here! New week, enjoy! xo

Looks like your guests have been having a fabulous time! I love nothing more than a vintage French chair – they look like they could dance around when no one is watching. XOXO

Oh, what a collection, they are all wonderful.
How lucky you are to find stuff like that, Sadly there is not much of it around here in Greece, very hard to find.
