the magic of spring flowers and my floral tour

by Sharon Santoni

I have flowers on the brain right now, not only because the garden and the valley have literally exploded in colour over the past couple of weeks, but also because today I am excited to welcome my guests onto my first floral tour.

You may remember my video about a floral art class with my girlfriend Clarisse,  well tomorrow six guests will be visiting the wholesale flower market with me and taking a lesson with Clarisse and sipping champagne at the George V and some other stuff too – two days of floral heaven.

So with all of that happening, I grabbed some viburnum, wisteria, cow parsley and even a couple of peonies from the garden and put this together, just for fun.  I hope you like it.

If you want to follow along on the floral tour, be sure to keep an eye on my instagram  , and if you would like to take part in the tour yourself, then you may like to know that there will be a second tour on the 2nd and 3rd of June, and there are still a couple of places left.

Email me HERE for more details, merci!

What variety of verbena do you have? It looks similar to hydrangea. Thanks!

Tabitha – I’m thinking that it’s snowball viburnum and not hydrangea. But whatever it is, it’s a gorgeous arrangement! Sharon, I’ll bet you can just drop a fist full of flowers in a pot and have it look perfect immediately!

Sharon, absolutely beautiful flowers, we are in the middle of a drought in New Zealand so its just lovely to see your pretty arrangement. I hope you have more tours next year so I can plan our trip to Paris around them.

This is gorgeous! But in my book, you have always had a command of floral arrangement! Sounds like an amazing trip; someday, I hope to come. All the best to you always, Rié

Hi Sharon, your flower arrangement is beautiful as always, I can imagine their perfume in the air. Hope you are having a lovely time. Thank you for sharing beauty. Till next time, regards Esther from Sydney. PS wish I was there and you know what this means…it’s back to the garden catalogues I just received…can’t decide on perfumed Day Lily called Heaven Scent or Lily Of The Vally (which I’ve had 0 success) so many choices.

I think you could give your own floral arranging classes! I live in dry Provence, with a beautiful natural landscape, but growing flowers that are happy in Normandy is just neither easy or sensible. I’m happy just looking at yours ……

Beautiful spring flowers. I was wondering the other day if I could use cow parsley in an arrangement and if it would last as we have so much of it. You have inspired me, today I shall go and cut some and experiment. I have also put some of the giant pink flowers from the Spanish Chestnut in a big vase on the kitchen table, they make a huge statement and have lasted much longer than I expected.

Beautiful arrangement Sharon. Please can you tell me if you use an oasis to get the height and shape that you have?

I love the pale lilac, whites and pale greens, soft, almost whispery colors. I have Hydrangeas, sweet peas, gardenias in bloom, we are awaiting our second flush of roses, here in the Sacramento area…we had spectacular roses in April this year….
