the august box is all about ‘la cuisine’!

by Sharon Santoni

As we head through the second year of creating My Stylish French Boxes every three months, there is an enjoyable and comfortable routine established.  Some moments are busier than others, and we have our occasional peaks of stress, laughter and puzzlement, but this moment right now is my favourite.

After a long period of examining products and receiving samples, we have chosen all the contents of this box which is all about French cuisine.  We have discussed sizes and quantities with our suppliers, explained why we want their items in the box, why they correspond to our values of elegant French living, thanked them for using high quality materials and beautiful packaging and generally made new friends.

Because we put together each box as if we were preparing a gift for a close girlfriend, we want everything to be perfect!

And now I want to tell you about the theme for this August box.   French cuisine!    I love this theme, it has been such fun to shop for.    Of course I’m not going to tell you what is in the box, but I can promise you it is only items that I use here, from French brands, made with love.  And also of course there is a brocante item included!

And to put you in the mood here are a few photos taken in my kitchen, where I love to have flowers and fruit at the hub of everything.

Our kitchen is definitely the heart of the house.   We cook here, we eat here, and when friends visit a lot of time is spent here, chatting over a glass of wine as the meal comes together.

If you have never tried our boxes before, and if you love the idea of having a French touch in your own cuisine, then come on over  HERE and join the growing crowd of women who enjoy discovering the surprise contents of My Stylish French Box every three months.

Hi Sharon, I wanted to quizz you on your cooker backsplash. You look to have a very similar set up to me with a lowish old chimney “hood”, and a strip of stainless only behind the range itself, and possibly paint every where else. I am struggling over my backsplash, at the moment all the area behind and to the side of the cooker is painted. Do you have tiles to the cheeks of your chimney opening to stop cooking splashing, and does the stainless only behind the range give adequate protection? And what about the cheeks? I am struggling to make a choice and since it is pristine white at the moment I need to quickly make up my mind!

Your photography has gotten even more exquisite! As a dedicated cook, I am curious to learn what’s in the next box.

Jan Bell June 14, 2018 - 12:33 pm

Sharon, Having received all the boxes so far, and this one being about French cuisine, I am wishing we see a repeat of the salt sent last year. Mine is almost gone as I have cherished its use to spread out having it. To get another one, would be exquisite!

Mitch Ladner June 15, 2018 - 9:54 pm

Is that a LaCanche I spy in your kitchen? You were talking a couple of years ago about renoating your kitchen, and the result looks wonderful. I have those half-moon drawer pulls, too, and they’re the best kind ever.
Would love to know your experience with that cooker, and how you like it, why you chose that one.

Dianne Estes June 16, 2018 - 10:36 pm
