by Sarah Nusz

I am filled with a sense of joy and gratitude that comes with the arrival of our November/December issue. It marks not only the culmination of another year but also a special milestone: The 30th edition of our My French Country Home magazine! Thank you all for your readership and support.

In this latest edition, we discover France’s winter offerings. Our Discovery Guide transports you to the heart of my favorite neighborhood in Paris: Saint-Germain. Brimming with good restaurants and cafés, and some of my favorite shopping areas, this quartier holds some of the city’s best addresses. We also whisk you away to the gardens of Prieuré de Vauboin in the Sarthe, glistening in winter frost.

Among the four interiors that we share in this edition, you will find an exciting new category featuring our favorite vacation destinations available for you to book for your next holiday to France! Our first “Your Next French Holiday” features a gorgeous property in Ménerbes that could be the setting for your next trip to Provence.

Unsurprisingly, at the heart of the Christmas celebrations in France is food, and our pages are no different! We invite you to savor some special delicacies created by Eve Cardi and unusual traditions, such as Les Treize Desserts (the “Thirteen Desserts”) a sweet feast with symbolic significance. For those aspiring to use this time of year to master authentic French cooking, we highlight elegant yet straightforward recipes from two professional chefs and instructors, Hubert Delorme and Vincent Boué, shared from their latest cookbook: The Complete Book of French Cooking.

Continuing to enjoy the finer things this season, we admire the opulent interiors of the Château de Fontainebleau in our Portfolio and the delicate craftsmanship of Saint-Louis, renowned lead-crystal artisans. Finally,  to ensure that your holiday season is filled with both ease and impeccable flair, we have curated a festive gift guide, brimming with ideas for the whole family.

As we embrace the winter months and the joys they bring, let this issue of our magazine serve as your guide to a season filled with warmth, elegance, and the allure of all things French.

Wishing you all a happy lead-up to the end of the year, and very Joyeuses Fêtes!
