The beginning of a new year always carries a certain quiet magic. Winter light has a way of slowing us down, inviting us to pause, reflect, and imagine what lies ahead. It only feels fitting, then, to welcome 2026 with a fresh beginning of our own.
The January/February issue arrives with a refreshed design – familiar in spirit, yet gently renewed. It reflects our desire to keep evolving while remaining true to the essence of what we love: French art de vivre, beautiful places, and the stories behind them.

We’re also introducing a couple of new features that I’m especially excited to share. One is a regular focus on contemporary French women artists whose work inspires us. We begin with Valérie de Sarrieu, a landscape painter from Toulouse whose canvases capture the emotional power of place.
The other is a new address book we call ‘Where We’d Go’ – a curated collection of hotels, restaurants, and experiences across France that have captured our hearts. From tucked-away gardens to inspiring boutiques and galleries, these are the places that make exploring France endlessly rewarding. Our first destination takes us to Annecy, set up against the dramatic beauty of the Alps.
This first issue also celebrates the balance between fresh perspective and enduring style. Inside, you’ll discover a chic mountain chalet overlooking Savoie, a beautifully reimagined Haussmannian family home near the Bois de Vincennes, and a character-filled 16th-century village house in the Lot-et-Garonne. We step into the private garden of horticultural historian Patricia Bouchenot-Dechin in the Perche and visit the frost-covered Jardin Étang de Launay, officially recognized as Jardin Remarquable.

Our travels then take us east, away from the crowds and into the quieter corners of Alsace – Colmar and the enchanting villages along the Route des Vins. Along the way, we introduce Coco & Co, a much-loved antiques shop in Honfleur, and Maison Fabre, whose beautifully crafted gloves have been worn by generations of royalty, film stars, and style icons.
It’s my pleasure to share this new chapter of the magazine with you, and I hope it brings inspiration and a sense of wanderlust as the year begins. If you’d like to receive the magazine and join us, subscribe HERE.
