Here we are in the midst of a long and ridiculously hot summer in France. I’m currently in Provence with my family, and you may have seen my unboxing video that I did with my daughter Nina. These summer breaks with a mix of generations are possibly the most precious moments in my year, and I’m grateful to have our entire family with us, as well as friends popping in and out.
But it’s not all holiday, and I noticed that I’ve had a lot of emails recently asking me when I started the blog, how I created the boxes, or why I thought it was a good idea to launch a printed magazine! Other people have written asking about our tours and travel advice ….
Many of you may know that the blog and everything since stemmed from a moment at the end of 2009 when, as a hands-on mum with four rapidly growing children, I found myself scared by the prospect of the empty nest and decided to try to reinvent myself.
Since that first blog post in February 2010, a lot of things have happened. And today, I count myself extremely lucky to have been able to see My French Country Home grow from a simple, personal blog to a business with a small team.
Being in a position where we have to learn new stuff every day is one of life’s greatest privileges, and I’m always up for a new challenge.
But rather than answer those email questions here as a blog post, I’ll be doing a Q&A video on Instagram at the start of next week. Please send me your questions by email at contact@myfrenchcountryhome.com, or drop them into the comment box below, and with the help of my daughter Nina, who’ll play moderator, I’ll take all of your questions about life in France, about anything to do with My French Country Home, or anything else that crosses your mind.
The Q&A will be posted on Facebook & Instagram on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
