spas in paris

by Sharon Santoni

Many people are making plans to visit Paris in the coming months, and at My French Country Home we are happy to help you find your way around and open our Paris address book for you.  Today it is all about spas in Paris.

This is the time of year, when the winter and the cold have been going on just about long enough. I find myself dreaming of warmer places or failing that a hot water soak in a gorgeous spa. Luckily for me, Paris is not far, and I have my favourite spa addresses, recommended to me over the years by Parisian girlfriends. Next time you’re in the city and looking for a special little pick-me-up or a refresh from travel, here are some spots I recommend :

O-Kari : The hammam-style spa is just for women and tucked away in the fashionable Montorgueil district. Rue Montogueil is the perfect cobblestone street to pick up specialty foods for your flat or picnic after treating yourself to a soak or scrub in this traditional setting.

Spa Le Bristol by La Prairie : In a city known for tiny spaces, a swimming pool with a view is the ultimate luxury. At the beautiful Bristol Hotel, a legendary spa and its amenities will make you feel like a queen. The perks of the hotel extend throughout this gorgeous 5 star establishment, just pop into the Cafe Antonia for a cup of tea.

The Ritz Spa & Healthclub : Perhaps most iconic of the spas in Paris is the Ritz. Inspired by the baths of ancient Greece and Rome, there is nothing quite like the columns and frescoes of 17, place Vendome. After all, this is where Chanel chose to open its first ever Chanel spa revealed during the reopening of the Ritz in 2016.

Nuxe Spa Paris : It’s no secret that French women love the oils and lotions of the Nuxe brand, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the French beauty brand’s namesake spa is pretty beloved as well. Located on the lively rue Montorgueil, an afternoon escape into the peaceful wellness center will make you a Nuxe convert if you’re not already.

l’échappée : Last but not least, a truly hidden gem. This urban spa, hammam, cafe and exercise center (yoga, pilates and aqua pilates) is an affordable spot that local women adore. You can reserve a one time visit or sign up to be a member and attend classes with the benefits of the spa and hammam, as well. Beautiful, understated and right in the heart of the trendy 11eme arrondissement, l’échappée is a real escape from the daily hustle and bustle of the city.

They all look utterly gorgeous, if ever I am in Paris I shall remember this, but usually with children in two I doubt I will get the opportunity! However, fortunately we have fabulous weather at the moment in SW France, 20C today and so we feel thoroughly spoilt just by eating lunch outside in a t shirt and feeling the real heat from the sun. Like you, I now find myself longing for spring and summer!

My favorite spa and hammam in Paris is the one at the Grande Mosquée. On the back side of the mosque, there’s a restaurant, boutique and tea room. You have to slip past a glass case of pastries in the tea room to enter the hammam, through a discreet door. It feels very cloak and dagger or very secret for those in the know. Inside, the decor is gorgeous. There are many rooms with different temps. I highly recommend the gommage and the massage. The best massage I ever had was there (and I’ve tested around the world). I felt as if the masseuse took apart every muscle and put it back in the right place.
Don’t forget to allow time to have some mint tea and one of those pastries in the tea room afterward!

OooLaLa! I could use a wonderful vigorous massage right now. I need every muscle taken apart & put back in the appropriate places. Thank you for this Sharon. X

The Chick-fil-A survey sandwich is a popular menu item that allows customers to provide valuable feedback through the Chick-fil-A Customer Feedback Survey. This survey can be accessed at the website https://www.mycfavisit.blog/. By participating in the survey, customers have the opportunity to share their thoughts on various aspects of their dining experience. This feedback helps Chick-fil-A improve its service and menu offerings to better meet customer expectations.
