chateau avec potager

by Sharon Santoni
Just when I thought I knew this valley off by heart, I discover something new!
Drove past these gates in the middle of nowhere this week and screeched to a halt!

large blue wrought-iron gate

This is the little tree lined avenue leading down away from the gate.  Nicely rural, don’t you think?

country lane, lined by trees

This is the property so well guarded, a little austere maybe, but not ‘vilain.’

view of a large chateau through the gate bars

But best of all, this is the stone-walled potager to the side of the chateau, something this blogger believes no home should be without (providing of course it comes complete with the necessary army of jardiniers)!!

Lovely estate but it looks lonely and BIG! It does need some nice plantings around it, love the gate, I would have stopped too.

Beautiful blue gates ~ but It looks sort of lonely!! – it needs people and children playing and music ~ maybe this happens at other times. Love the little lane!

This is one of my favourite things about holidaying in France! So often we've gone for a random drive and come accross the most AMAZING houses tucked down unassuming rural lanes. How wonderfully lucky for this to be a daily occurrence for you – you obviously live in a most beautiful and magical area. xx

No fair!

Each turn you make has a stunning vista or a fabulous property.

The only way to rectify this is to visit!
