I hadn’t planned to admit to this, but I am in a bit of a frenzy here because I have some journalists arriving tomorrow for the weekend, and suddenly what normally looks reasonably presentable in my house looks old hat, and where my garden normally looks bright, it suddenly looks tired …. Oh dear!
I could blame it on the 2 month drought we are suffering from, along with its incumbent hosepipe ban, but I know that I should have worked harder making everything look spick and span. Why are there only 24 hours in each day?! I’m actually envying those people who only need 3 hours sleep, oh! the things I could do …………
Anyway, this is what I have to offer, they’ll just have to do small vignettes rather than grand overviews
…

Dear Sharon….it all looks lovely to me…your guests will surely enjoy their stay and admire all the beauty you have to offer.
Hugs,
Jo
Your small vignettes are absolutely beautiful!!! I know the feeling, same as entertaining frenzy, you look at your environment with very critical eyes when you are about to get visitors and all of a sudden there are so many things to do to prepare.
Your garden is very lovely, you can relax….

I would have gladly flown over and helped prep your garden with you. THAT would be heaven to do, your property is breathtaking.
Looks Heavenly to me

It all looks beautiful and lush – I'm sure the journalists will think everywhere beautiful – they will look at everything with fresh eyes.
Good luck AND relax !

I think everything looks very vibrant, not tired at all! Have a lovely weekend!
XO,

It looks lovely and welcoming. They will surely enjoy their stay, and love your home. As for the garden, it looks stunning and I'm sure everyone can understand that it hasn't rained for so long in your area. It'd be worse if it suddenly rained all weekend long and they had to stay cooped inside… imagine that! :-{
Well I think it looks fabulous, have a fun weekend.
I'm a vignette person…so that would make incredibly happy!
The overview looks just as gorgeous as the vignette. Your grounds, as is your house, I am sure, are superbe. Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. You YOU YOU make your house a home…. 🙂
It seems to me that there are plenty of beautiful and intriguing vignettes around your place. Real life happens to the best of us. Enjoy – your guests will be thrilled to be there. I know I would.
don't sweat it…..your guests will love it !!
Ha- little do you know that the journalists are going to think they died and went to heaven!
Be proud- you should be!
Dearest Sharon,
Oh, you got the same problem with days being way too short! A garden needs so much manicure and forget about the dead-heading… that way we won't make it inside ever! But don't worry about the journalists. Even a 'lived in' garden looks much more charming than an over-pedicured picture perfect one. In real life they just don't exist!
Enjoy your time and collapse afterward. That's how we live too. Work-work-work and relax a little, only to start the cycle again…
Lots of love,
Mariette
Your peonies are lovely. In fact, it looks like you have quite a bit of loveliness going on there, so you should breathe easy. Everything will be fine. 🙂
Still all looks wonderful Sharon, I don't think you have anything to worry about. I'm jealous of your roses!
I wouldn't worry at all – your garden looks a treat! How I would love to be able to grow roses here in the tropics {{sigh}}…. I think (as gardeners) we are often much too introspective about our gardens. What we might consider messy and overgrown – others look at in awe. For some strange reason they can never "see" the weeds. ;)Sharyne
Wow it all looks de lovely…there will be lots for snap happy people like me…roses, poppies, foxgloves and more:)

Well… we all await the report–but we are quite positive that the journalists will adore your lovely and gracious home and gardens. Mustn't fret, the day will be splendid!
