mid-summer in our valley

by Sharon Santoni

At the height of the summer and the valley is looking pretty.  The advantage of having a narrow valley with a big river is that there are side streams running everywhere that seem to create natural vignette shots.  Some of my favourite shots of our valley through the summer months.

Just beautiful! Reading this post in particular will have to make up for my non summer in France this year. How I do miss the villages, countryside and lifestyle of southern France. I am hating Atlanta this summer………….

Utterly gorgeous, as usual. Your photos are a feast for the eyes, and lend themselves to dreaming of places far away and magical.

Hi Sharon,
Lovely shots of your corner of Normandy, the misty mornings we've been having are delightful aren't they, and all the rain is so good for the hydrangeas and produce in the potager.

You are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful setting. I love the shot of the cattle in the misty morning, and the waterways, of course. Lovely!

You live in such a beautiful corner of the world. Have you ever sold any of your photographs to Normandy Tourism?

I love seeing images of the places people live. It is especially nice when blogger friends share their neighbourhood with us.

The first picture of the water with the plants on the side of the house is so French. I love them all.

Holy, moley Sharon! These photos are divine! And they're calorie free! (Each day that you post a recipe moves me closer to a larger pair of jeans!) So today I welcomed the beauty that is your France.

Stunning! The second photo is my absolute favorite….just so much for the eye to see. Love them. Tried my hand at the Madeline Cakes today. They were very good but I need the real baking tin since mine did not have the correct shape!

Dearest Sharon,

What a beautiful valley; swans, a romantic stream with ancient buildings and beautiful cast iron gates, all with 'Charme d'Antan'.

Lots of love,

Mariette
