Greenery in a bouquet is vital for adding bulk and serving as a backdrop to the colour of the flowers. Here I wanted a very quick bouquet on the terrace, didn’t have time to scout around the garden looking for interesting foliage, turned around towards our enormous lime tree and Bingo!
The lime tree ‘flowers’ at this time of year to the delight of the garden bees. The pale flower or seed heads actually hang beneath the leaves on the tree, but for the arrangement I turned them the other way up, added some tiny apples, and my irreplaceable Pierre de Ronsard rose. I liked the effect with the bottle of rosé wine, soft and summery!

Sharon~ What a charmer of a bouquet!! It is equisite!! I adore lime trees and their lovely little seed pods…and the apples …such talent you have!! I love mixing things like fruit and flowers too and will put most anything in my flower arrangements. The best are those fresh from the garden. Thank you for sharing!!

You share the best floral arrangements. I have got to remember to think outside the box…using the apples and lime seeds made an amazing arrangement.

Your bouquet is beautiful. What kind of roses are these? They look like the old fashioned english roses. I'd love to know the name. Thanks so much.
That rose looks just the ticket and the flowers…. are just lovely

Stunning! I am so glad to have found your blog. I found you from Procrastination Mama. I am your newest follower. Stop by and say hello!
This arrangement is spectacular…adore the addition of the apples…just gorgeous!!
The juxtaposition of soft petal floral and the strength of the lime foliage is a striking combination. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves that the perfect look is right outside of our door and not at a market.
