There seems little point in collecting pretty china if you can never see it. Displaying china has been popular through the generations and is something I still enjoy today. Here are a few examples I found and from my home

It seems to work just as well if we mix and match, not all the same size or the same shape, although many will prefer the uniformity of one colour or one design.

I do have a special affection for old french soupières, or tureens, just love their silhouette in the first picture against the darker backdrop

I love the look of old china .. it is not only charming but for me, having things of beauty and sometimes these things are heirlooms, you can look at them and have loving memories.
I am sad that at this time, my precious china etc that is so breakable, is wrapped up safe and put away .. waiting for a place to be displayed 🙂 I miss them !

I have collected old ironstone for so long – my 25 year old son just asked me for a pile of old white ironstone plates that came out of our church when they were clearing things out. The church is 150+ years old – I know that is young by French standards but for Canada, that is an oldy but goody!! So the passion lives on in another generation.
I do not have a great amount of china but my collection is slowly increasing as I find dishes that I really love. It's always nice to get creative ideas for ways to display my pieces. I hope you are having a wonderful, warm week.—— Shannon
I'm with you, glass front cabinets to show off the dishes! Your collection of soup tureens is truly special. We have a special affection for these charmers as well. Most of ours are Quimper faience or Italian. I'm drawn to the sweet finials on these pieces as well as the different shapes.

Gorgeous display of French china. I have a white set for daily use and several blue and white pieces to use for accent. It's all classic – I never tire of it. Enjoying your blog!

It's always been one of my passions too. My first job was in the china department of a big department store in downtown Toronto where I worked in the Rosenthal and Royal Doulton rooms – I think being surrounded with those beautiful things has really set the tone of my life.
