In our valley, people like to have high stone walls around their homes. The walls make you feel safe, and private and …..
they are great for training climbing plants like wisteria, clematis and Virginia creeper.

Many houses have wisterias over one hundred years old twisting
and turning their way around gates and pillars.

and the great thing about wisteria, is that it can make even a ramshackle fence
look romantic, especially when the wall beneath is covered in a pink flowering weed.
Wishing you a fragrant weekend,
thank you for reading my blog, you are the best![blank]

Sharon…utterly breathtaking! That first picture is picture perfect. Enjoy all the beauty and have a wonderful weekend.
How delightful are these photos! Love the wisteria. We're just going into autumn here.

Beautiful! I love wisteria.
Such gorgeous photos! Thank you for sharing, don't know which I love more – the stone or the wisteria!
Oh my! On my way…in my head!!1
Stunning photos!!

So picturesque! You live in such a beautiful area.
My Mom loved wisteria…but Dad called it invasive.
I would love this beautiful vine to invade my spaces!
Thanks for such lovely images…dreamy! 🙂
The wisteria is out here, too. The areas are quite similar in situation and look. I live in No. California where we have often been compared to Provence and Tuscany in looks and weather. Of course, we do not have the stone buildings which add a lot of charm. It is a beautiful springtime so far.
So beautiful. When I was a child wisteria was my favorite flower. My grandmother wore a lot of purple and it reminded me of her and still does.

Beautiful homes and stone walls. I love wisteria and have it growing over my front porch. Gorgeous pictures, Sharon! Happy Weekend!!

SO dreamy, you are blessed – what a beautiful site! Thank you so much for sharing that marvel!
How absolutely lovely. You must feel such a happy relief whenever you turn into your gates to come home.
Thank you so much for these beautiful photos! I love wisteria – and I love France – so these are just gorgeous to me.
Beautiful. I could live in any one of those spots very happily.
Wow – all those images are gorgeous! I want to live in a farmhouse with a ramshackle wall covered in wisteria!
I am so glad to have taken this little stroll through your corner of France this morning. It makes the house cleaning a little lighter. And soon I'll be outside in my own corner of the world, digging and planting and hopefully creating something beautiful, too.
I have had difficulty getting wisteria to bloom so I gave up on it. It is just beautiful especially hanging over the stone walls.

A fragrant weekend indeed.
LOVELY!
Our wisteria FINALLY bloomed after 7 years! I had about ten cascading flowers and I was giddy.
Bonne Weekend.

That is such a beautiful house in the first photo. I love everything about wisteria – the colour, the scent and the shape of the flower spikes.
LOVE these photos. And I love wisteria. Before my husband retired from the military, I always planted wisteria everywhere we went. The last house we sold in CO, I wasn't even sure f it would grow with the cold weather. It did beautifully. We sold the house in Feb, and later that Spring the new Owner tracked us down thru some neighbors we remain in contact with, wanting to know what the purple vine on the arbor was. She loved it. I couldn't believe she didn't know. Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures with us.
Beautiful climbers. I love the wisteria, the color is gorgeous and you're right, it makes a ramshackle fence look even more lovely over the blooming pink weeds!
Thanks so much for sharing these images!
I could sit at my computer and gaze at the fabulous photos for a long time. So pretty.
happy Sunday

Fotos lindas, maravilhosas !!!!
The last two photos look like paintings to me. Beautiful
Beautiful – one of the most romantic climbers to have around a house – I love it! This is such a wonderful time of year – especially when you can see sights like these, the combination of rough stone and pretty, wispy wisteria is the stuff of fairy tales – lovely! x
The images you've captured are breathtakingly beautiful.
How beautiful. I especially love the very first picture.

Very Lovely, question…do you know what the pink flowering weed is called over the ramshackle fence pic?
