Gibson and Ghetto get back together

by Sharon Santoni
I.N.S.E.P.A.R.A.B.L.E – that is the only way to describe Gibson and Ghetto ever since the little monster came home last week!
As you can see from the pictures, Ghetto has gone for the hippy-look this season, with long unkempt dreadlocks, but we try not to talk about it, we’d hate to upset him.

Gibson is forever the patient, generous and understanding one, although now and again he does shoot me a look that says,
“do I REALLY have to put up with this nonsense?”

or

“doesn’t he EVER slow down?!”
Only a few more days and the dynamo will be gone again, and the house
will feel strangely quieter….. and tidier!
Just saying.

One of my favorite moments is when my dog recognizes my friends dog. I'm sure these two are so excited to see one another when they have been apart. They are so cute together!

This is such a sweet post. Both dogs are adorable~ I remember the day when I purchased my Lab/Retriever. She (my dog) was lying on the back of another Labrador who was much older who had taken to keeping a watchful eye over her. HA I have a friend who has a 9 year old dog named Josie and she had just purchased a Shih Tzu puppy named Scout. It is hilarious to watch them. The Scout follows Josie like she is his mother and does exactly what she does! LOL So darn cute!

Sharon, I grew up with wire hair fox terriers and am utterly smitten with Ghetto. Being quite familiar with their foxy ways I must say that I'm very impressed with Gibson's patience and am not surprised that he shoots you an eye roll from time to time. Glad they are such buddies – that second photo made my heart skip a beat! Happy furry weekend!

I never knew dogs could roll their eyes until I saw Gibson in photo #3! Patience of the puppy saints, he has. Reminds me of my big white fluffy cat Harry (he's 12) and my little silky black cat Sam (very much still a baby at age 6). Sam stalks and ambushes and harrasses Harry and Harry just lets him, knowing that eventually Sam will tire out and want to snuggle.

my eyes tear up when I see how un ashamedly animals show love especially canines….they are simply all out in the open. There is nothing more precious than that kind of liberated LOVE……they are both extremely wise and extremely playful….what a godly combination!

Beyond adorable. I, too, have a senior dog in the house to whom many a younger adoptee has been introduced and, sometimes, when they're climbing all over him, he looks at me as if to say, "Really, Mom? REALLY?" (Do I have to put up with this, AGAIN?) I don't have a Golden, but I don't think there's anything like a sweet retriever face to melt a heart. One thing I seem to have missed is why Ghetto comes and goes to the French Country Home (???). I have a gap in the saga!

Gibson has a look similar to Indy, my german shepherd, since we introduced a new puppy (a shelter rescue) into our home. 🙂

Have a wonderful weekend, Sharon!

Who needs verbal communication when facial expressions do it for you? What we humans can learn from dogs??!!! There could be little external stress in s household with these beautiful babies -could there? Again thank you for sharing these memories.

Hi Sharon,
I want to tell you how much I enjoy reading your blog. I found your page while researching "restoring a barn" (which I am about to do). Your photography is amazingly beautiful. Thank you for sharing your part of the world.
