the quiet before the storm

by Sharon Santoni
We are in-between cottage guests for a couple of days, and  yesterday morning I slowed down a bit and came across these bluebells in a wood!  It is good sometimes to enjoy a quiet time before the storm.
This weekend will be one of the busiest on the fair calendar, and the guests who should have come have had to postpone to July!  So I shall be tearing around Normandy alone picking up goodies as I go!
A carpet of bluebells in a wood works for me, every bit as well as a field of lavender.  A sight I remember from my childhood; I just love the luxuriant colour, a real carpet of flowers, hope you enjoy them too.[blank]

PS.  I have just realised that this is the 800th post I have published on this little blog –
whoever would have thought I had so much to say!!   Bonne journée mes amis.

What a gorgeous sight to come across in the woods. I have a small patch in my yard, and they inspired my blog post yesterday.

Enjoy the quiet before the rush comes.

blue is my favorite color flower. I hope to one day see the woods again or even live there, I miss them so much. Those 2 logs lying there look like legs :D, maybe an elf forgot to wake up? lol

You just took my breath away Sharon. What beautiful images. I'd never leave that wood if it was close to my home. Can't wait for spring over here in NZ. Thank you for that! Lovely way to finish my Friday. All the best.

A bluebell wood must be one of the most beautiful sights in the world. How odd that I've never thought of them growing anywhere but England:)

Imagine…800 posts! WOW, I am working towards 200. The state flower of Texas is the blue bonnet that grow wild this time of year. Beautiful blue carpets mingled with weeds as far as thee eye can see. You would think someone planted them that way!

Have a wonderful weekend. This weekend is Mother's Day in the US so I want to wish you a Happy Mother's Day!

Love the bluebells pictures! The smell of bluEbells always reminds me of the British countryside whereas the smell of lavender takes me back instantly to visiting Grasse as a child.
