The sun has come out …. let me just say that again because it’s been so long we had almost forgotten what it felt like … the. sun. has. come. out!! YAY!
Just as I thought, there were a load of fairs today and I visited just three. Friends were here late for dinner yesterday evening which was lovely, but although I managed to get out of bed early to be at the first fair, I didn’t feel like trawling fairs all day, and I was home by 10 this morning.
Besides these turquoise pitchers, some good finds today, including some I can’t identify! Like these zinc things, that seem perfect for individual flowers hanging at a window or from a hook.
A rather wonderful painted metal washstand with two darling drawers and little lion feet.
Two fireman’s canvas water buckets with great lettering
a whole load of bakers baskets,
a gorgeous wicker trunk and
a complete set of copper saucepans that I adore because they are so small!
I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful Mothering Sunday if it’s today in your part of the world.
In France we wait until early June.

I love the loot shoots. Got my eye on copperware.
TREASURES, every one!
How divine – def worth losing some sleep over, I should say!
That washstand is TO DIE FOR – and I spy a madelaine pan too, awesome.
So much to love, wish I lived near you! (For more than just the loot!)
I love every single thing I see and wish i were there!
That wicker covered jug in the handled basket is wonderful. You sure found a lot of treasures in a short amount of time!
I would say you had a great morning! There are so many wonderful things in todays loot shoot that are right up my alley. You must be pleased when you see it all compiled like this… it is all just beautiful.
Yummy all. I just gotta take another trip to France to do some more shopping.
I cannot get over how many treasures are available at these fairs. I'd be over the moon to find things like these.
Happy Mother's Day!
One of my bloggy friends wrote on my blog today that you had a picture of the statue of Joan of Arc in Paris. I came to check and your picture is a lot nicer than the one I posted on my blog. I just wanted to show that the statue of Joan of Arc in New Orleans, which we saw 10 days ago, is a replica of the one in Paris. If you like old things you should come here (Atlanta, Georgia.) Last week-end we drove to middle Georgia to a fair and on the way there we must have passed a dozen or more vintage sales with a variety of good old stuff. The fair itself had two large warehouse type buildings with many antiques (well, vintage stuff) and quaint things.
Some great finds there, I love the baskets and the wicker trunk and the copper pans are fabulous.
Although I salivate over the turquoise pitchers, that washstand is to die for; what a great find! Can't you just envision it in the right setting? How wonderful that something with so much character doesn't get lost in the trash heap!
Oh,my! What wonderful treasures you found. Must admit I am a little envious…
I think I need to move to France. I love, love all of those treasures. My favourites would be the wash stand, trunk, shell baking tray and the wicker basket and, and……
Those canvas fire buckets are pretty darn incredible. Wow!
Loving the wicker basket and the copper sauce pans…once again beautiful finds!
Purtoppo qui nel nord Italia è diluviato, pioggia pioggia pioggia, e non sono riuscita ad andare ai mercatini che volevo!
Pazienza, speriamo torni il sole… e resti!
You sure scored some fabulous stuff!
Happy Mother's Day! 🙂

Have a fabulous week!

Great finds, especially the pitchers. No finds for me this weekend, but we've had wonderful weather for gardening and the first raspberry ripened.
Oh that washstand…what a find! If I had a single square inch of extra space in this apartment, I'd be collecting too. Alas, I must do it through you, Sharon.
Wow – those are some awesome finds – love the huge basket!!
I love it all! I'd say there was no need to continue on at the markets.
Recycle, recycle, so amazing + Love going with you to the markets. Thank you! xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
Love the loot shoots. Where would I look on the internet to find these markets in northern France around Lille? Are they called brocante? xo Jenny
What a gorgeous and informative blog you have…love reading it…and all great tips for me.
Wow, what a lovely stash of goodies!

Oh my, what great finds. I can imagine what else you might have found if you'd had your proper sleep quota! : ) I totally love that washstand, could really see it in the garden with trailing plants from the drawers and a bird bath in the basin. All your finds were awesome. I'd love if you'd share your finds at my Frugal Treasures Tuesday party! Have a great week. : -)
