puppy love

by Sharon Santoni

When our  farrier arrived early this morning; he drove into our yard, swung open the door to his truck and I saw young Ghetto’s jaw hit the ground!

From the van jumped the cutest, hairiest,  little dog that Ghetto has ever seen ….
it was love at first sight.
Her name is Gigi, she is from a fine family of long-haired-parson-jack-russels, and judging from the fierce way in which she defended her honour,  she evidently takes her breeding very seriously.
Ghetto is a thug, but that’s not new.   He followed her around the garden for a couple of hours, trembling with ardour and expectation, while she did her best to look indifferent and distinguished.
The horses got new shoes,  the farrier got coffee and muffins and ghetto got little more than a growl and a snarl, but that didn’t matter…..
…..    ♥♥♥       love is blind      ♥♥♥    …..
so this evening as I type this short indiscretion, he lies happily on his cushion dreaming of those brown eyes and flirty tail and mumbling  “Gigi, Gigi,  Gigi….”[blank]
it’s a dog’s life![blank]

They are both darling! I have a Rat Terrier which is a cousin to the Jack Russell Terrier. Gigi looks like my Milo with longer hair (there are long haired Rat Terriers). Sounds like you had an interesting day! 🙂

Sharon, you've been on my blog roll for ages. I love peeking into the daily happenings of your life, that seems so romantic and so far away, but today I just had to leave a comment. Ahhh love…it IS universal.
Come visit when you can, many blessings.

It seems like Gigi was playing being the temptress & Ghetto needs to realize that there is always some female out there to put temptation in his pathway. A hard lesson in life to learn. I hope he only dreams about her. Tomorrow she will be playing the same game with someone else. I hope when he wakes in the morning, his heart is not broken. Great fun, I love it.

I love this! Ghetto looks like he is lovestruck for sure. Reminds me of the movie The Lady and the Tramp! Instead of sugarplums dancing in his head he has visions of Gigi! Ha

Have a great weekend, Sharon. 🙂

Hello Sharon,
I think Dalida sang about them both… in Gigi L'amoroso!
Ghetto could join in with…
"Gigi? C'est toi Là-bas dans le noir?
Attends, laisse-moi te regarder…"
Very cute pictures!

We do dog and cat rescue and transport several times a week. I have never met a dog or cat who was not worthy of worship.

Dogs SO need other dogs in their lives, even if from time to time and not every day. Two of a kind. Their own special communication. I'd thought cats to be more indifferent, until I read that One is also a lonely number for a feline. Our dear companion animals need sometimes more than humankind.

Sharon, this is a post from you that really brings on a smile; thank you!

Wonderful pictures!! Ghetto only needs a shirt unbuttoned to his navel, a gold chain around his neck, and a disco ball overhead to complete his attire!!! I can't blame him, though, she's SO CUTE and looks completely able to deal with any lines Mr. Ghetto might hand her. Maybe he should try a more subtle and classy approach? Ribbon wrapped bacon bits? A delivery of somewhat ripe rodent parts? Super stinky rolling material offered with a respectfully admiring glance? Speaking of classy, where is dear Gibson? I would have thought she would have gone bonkers over a tall, muscular blond like him!!! Mr. Ghetto is still a youngster, though, and I know before long all the lady dogs will be calling him up on the telephone day and night, and driving the rest of the family crazy!
