[blank]When I showed my Easter loot shoot, you may have noticed two big boxes full of antique lace and passementerie.[blank]
[blank]This week I had time to take a proper look and thought you may like to see some of the contents.[blank]
[blank]There are several old newspapers and wrapping paper in the box, that confirms the dates between 1860 and 1902! The beaded lace pieces are elements that would have been sewn onto ladies dresses; many around the neck line, but others scattered across a billowing skirt, or along a cuff.[blank]
[blank] Today they are like individual handmade pieces of costume jewellery. They could be worn as necklaces, sewn onto a special dress or even used for pillows ….[blank]
[blank] but I’d love to hear your ideas too … what do you think I should do with these bundles of treasure?[blank]

Great find! How amazingly beautiful!
Have a great weekend.
Amazing. Calling all dress designers……..
What should you do with them? What would I do with them – frame them, of course! I see them in black frames of the various appropriate sizes (perhaps just small pieces of the long trims grouped together), in shallow shadow box frames on ecru backgrounds.
How Stunning!
LOVE IT!
Pieces of Art…
A blast from the past!
In my house they would end up eventually in a frame against a grey painted wall. Très chique!
I agree, some frame is required….these are too precious to wear….and are so special.
You will think of something wonderful I am sure….
Blessings,
Nancy

Absolutely beautifu! What a lucky find. Whatever you do with the pieces, I'm sure it will be chic! Have a great weekend, Cynthia
Those are stunning pieces. I'd frame them. Or put them onto a special occasion dress. They would really make a statement.
I think you should send them to me, LOL that's what I think you should do with them LOL
I have never seen that many in a box before.they would look good around a lamp shade
I know you will have fun playing with them what ever you do with them , they are just fabulous
Gorgeous! You do have luck finding the greatest treasures.
On esty.com today I saw a shop using stiffened pieces of lace to make jewelry. There are two of your pieces that would make spectacular earrings.
Well of course share with us!! Love them, they are stunning, I would love to use them on purses. Di
Framed or on a white linen dress.
Fabulous finds! I love the way you have displayed them on your dress form!
On sweaters. or a white dress, or a simple evening dress. They are indeed beautiful. You can allow yourself to be so creative with them. Enjoy.
What a marvellous find. I couldn't part with them. For the time being I would admire their beauty then decide. Deidre.
How beautiful– what a treasure!
Not sure if anyone has already suggested this, but I would have them professionally framed in shadow boxes!

Hi Sharon!!!
GORGEOUS!!!!!!!
Such art pieces!! Some would look great on a beautiful white or pink wedding dress. I would put it some in frames with a vintage picture with the lace on the ladies dress that appears in the picture. That would be unique!! And with one of these ideas, I would auction it off for charity. Keep them for future daughter-in-laws, daughters, grand daughters wedding gifts. A family heirloom.
Have a great weekend!!

Incroyable!!!!! What a find!! I can just imagine your excitement when you found them nestled in the newspaper! And are we not lucky that you did?? I am sure you will find many ways to "play" with them! Thank you so much for sharing.
Enjoy this exquisite day!
Kind regards, Laura
I guess I'm not creative, because I would only save them. It is so, so, so cool to have something that old.
REALLY STUNNING!I like them just as you have done on a mannequin! But I suppose you would need many more mannequins! What a find…………..great JOB!
how exciting..they are so feminine and beautiful. I can't possibly give you any ideas…i'm creatively challenged..but I can not wait to see what you do create!

I really enjoyed looking at such artistic pieces. What a find. I'd like to see a dress of the era which incorporated some of it; fashion of the day. We can't really imagine the work by hand that went into fine dresses worn by our ancestors.
My first thought was "hoard". They are seriously beautiful. I'm sure you will find lots of ways to display and use these. Thank you for sharing.
I would use some of them to make unique pieces of jewelry and display them on a wall without any frame
So beautiful. I could see some as a focal point on the back of an evening dress.
They were my favorite from your Easter loot…a real treasure. I would treat them like works of art. I'm sure you will enjoy them no matter what you decide to do with them.
WOW.
Too special to sell!
It took me a full minute to read the other posts and honest-to-goodness woman —– you live in Normandy, where Christian Dior was born! Don't frame these, don't "save" them (or at least all of them). Get thee to a fashion school of design and let someone coming up the ranks design some clothes with these pieces. What good is "having" them all, if not to share in a most meaningful way.
Linen is an item made from flax in your area. What student of design wouldn't be thrilled to have at least 1 or 2 of these pieces and some of Normandy's famous linen to produce something wonderful and unique. Silk, real satin anything designed with these pieces in mind would be truly original and you would have inspired at least one talent to look beyond the ordinary with this gift.
Saving is for people who think they've lots of time and requires no real effort other than to say "you've got it"; framing these is a great idea, but how long before you're bored with seeing them and then still don't know what to do next. I say inspire the future and pass them on – they deserve it.
Give them to my daughter! She's studying fashion design. She would love love love them 🙂
I could imagine them designed beautifully on black satin evening handbags. You would then get to use them, without overuse and wearing them out too quickly!
The one to go around the bodice of a dress (4th group of pics down) is just beautiful and modern at the same time. I already have a black satin dress design in my head for this and I am sure that others could also easily use this one on something very 'fashion forward' now! I can see a young designer, with a classic style, using these as inspiration for a collection.
You have an amazing eye to spy these!

please don't do anything to them they're so beautiful and to do anything to them would be a crime. they're a piece of history dont change that
