the french countryside in May

by Sharon Santoni
[blank]I may have lived here for ever, I think I’ll never
tire of the beauty of the countryside.[blank]
[blank]
[blank]I take my camera nearly everywhere with me; my family is  quite used to the car screeching to a halt on the road so I can capture a view, or the light that is “just right”. [blank]

[blank]Here are just a few things I snapped over the past week,
I hope my enthusiasm is contagious![blank]

[blank]Wishing you a lovely weekend,
thank you for reading me this week![blank]

Oh Sharon, what gorgeous images for me to start my day with!! I'm so glad you shared these! I do love the light and composition in them. Are the bright yellow fields of flowers rape seed? I remember seeing those when we visited England years ago.

I can see why you love living in Normandy; I'd certainly love to visit there someday. Have a wonderful weekend!

Such lovely countryside! Here on the Central Coast of California, the hills have already turned golden and we should reach 100 degrees tomorrow. I'm with the two folks above; would that I could come through the computer and enjoy such scenery myself!

Hello Sharon … I recently spent 10 days in the Limousin region where we have a little house – in Boussac to be precise. We live in Australia and try to get here twice a year. May is the most beautiful month I agree – the green is iridescent and the mustard yellow painted over the fields – Your photos are beautiful… thank you! Jenny of The Lime Walk

You have shared so much with us, the animals, the open fields, and scenery, and a little insight into the family. All lovely. I have started to look at things through a photographer's eye, not that I am good at it, only that I am starting to view everything I see that way. Have a good weekend.

Such gorgeous pastoral images. I can't help but contrast them to the ruggedness that is our landscape when out of the city. Both are beautiful. The gentleness of the hills, the shifting colors of plant life – your images illustrate calmness and peace. Bon weekend.

Thank you for hitting the publish button. I thoroughly enjoy reading all your posts, though I usually do not comment. Beautiful pictures of a countryside that has seen so much of history and mankind, pass through with use and of wars. Always accepting, yet mindful of the past, turning and growing for another season. This is what I see, history and now. Patty/BC

What are those fields of bright yellow flowers? We were in France in May several years ago and we loved seeing those fields on our train ride from Paris to Strasbourg. Would love to know what it is.
Thanks,
Claudia
