[blank]As this week’s buying trip draws to a close, we found ourselves back in Paris, where we spent the morning at the flea market for the professional-only buying time.[blank]
[blank]Clocks were on our mind, and we lingered a while in front of this baby who at over 3 metres high, dominated all around.[blank]
[blank]It was fun to try to work out how to use the huge clock, but in the end our choice was more reasonable and we went for a couple of clock faces that are easier to handle![blank]
[blank]We found some chairs and looked at various statues, we bought fabric and flags and baskets …. you get the picture ….[blank]
[blank]
[blank]
[blank]and then we heaved a sigh of relief as we left the bustling flea markets and headed into central Paris, decked out with flags for Bastille day …. and the comfort and luxury of our home away from home, Le Meurice Hotel…[blank]
[blank]never have I so much appreciated the discreet care of a palace hotel, than after our busy week of buying …
from the delicious food, to the perfumed hallways, to the spotless decor, everything is done to make the guest here feel special, comfortable and welcome …. I could get used to this :)[blank]
[blank]Today will be spent soaking in the beauty of the capital before my client starts her long journey home.
We have had fun, we have been successful, we are happy with our week’s work!
Tomorrow I’ll be home and the blog will get back to its normal rythym.
Wishing you a lovely weekend, thank you for reading me.[blank]

What great clocks. Happy Bastille Day.
Sharon, I have loved the details of the buying trip. My daughter, son-in-law, and his mom were in Paris and Normandy a few weeks ago. We had originally hoped to stay in your cottage but due to our travel route could only stay for one night. When walking to our hotel on Rue Cler in Paris, we passed a brocante shop but didn't have time to stop. Our last afternoon in the city, we spent a couple of hours retracing our steps trying to find it. Sadly, we never did! The only regret of our most fabulous trip! We hope to return someday, find that shop and also spend a few days with you in your cottage!
I've loved seeing all your wonderful finds and the scenery of the trip. Thanks for taking us along. Hugs, Marty
Sharon, I am sure your client loved this trip as I have enjoyed following along! LOve the clocks!
Thank you!

Stayed at the Ritz in Washington, DC and had an epiphany about 'courtesy'.
They did all you describe above AND were giving an overload of courtesy to each person. No matter their clothes, age, behavior etc….
Watched their courtesy mesmerize even my mom!
Epiphany? Courtesy is a spiritual practice.

Loved the pictures! Thanks for sharing!
Wish I could have come.
Happy Bastille Day Sharon!! Love the contrast to your day…from the flea markets to the luxurious Le Meurice. The reward of your toil and labor….:) Enjoy it all!!!
An excellent end to a week of hard work and fun. Love that third clock, the red hands with hearts in them. And Bastille Day in Paris, perfect.
Sharon, Do you or anyone know the name of the type of leg on that chair? Does it have a name?
Le Meurice Hotel sounds wonderful to me.
Hello Sharon,
I love reading your blog. You are such an inspiration. Thanks so much for all your hard work sharing the amazing sites in Paris (and surrounding countryside). I love reading your blog.
Susan
I am so taken by that bust. It is so serenely beautiful. Also, yes, the chair; I can see it transformed, so lovely.
Thank you for sharing the great photos of this buying trip. It's been so interesting. I do indeed think you live a very charmed life. I know it's "business" and your occupation/career but to have found something to do which suits you so well and which is so enjoyable, with something always new around the corner…some incredible find…has to be very gratifying. I like being the little bird on your shoulder, going along for the ride with you via your blog and your fine photos and narratives. Reading you is really a pleasure!
Bonne Fête Nationale!
Quanto è bella Parigi….
Prossima volta che ci andrò voglio andare anch'io al mercatino delle Pulci…non voglio perdermi questa occasione!!!

Lucky lady!! The beautiful accessories are all so beautiful but Le Meurice really stole my heart, we stayed there last time we were there and what fun! Oh how I love that place!
The clocks!!!! Do you know the wonderful book about the French boy who .ives in the clock tower of the Paris train station? the illustrations are magnifique! The book is The Invention of Hugo Cabret. I think they have made a movie of it, too.
