[blank]One of the nice things about being away and so busy for the past week, is taking stock of the garden when I get back.[blank]
[blank] It is very warm and dry here, with a slight wind. This means we are having to water the garden every day, especially on the new plants.[blank]
[blank]As we move through July the roses gently fade, and the very first dahlias kick in. My annual poppies are still showing well, but they also offer hundreds of the green seed heads that I love to use in arrangements.[blank]
[blank]So I made this bouquet, to brighten the dining room. Some tiny white Felicité et Perpetue roses, a highly scented orange rose whose name I don’t know, and the green poppy heads, with the first fennel flowers here and there.[blank]
[blank]As usual ten minutes only required to put it all together, and the cutting time is taken as I walk around the garden early in the morning.[blank]
[blank]Wishing you a good week ahead![blank]

Oh how lovely! Never thought of using poppy heads for an arrangement. What a super idea!
What a beautiful bouquet Sharon…..gorgeous mix! Hot and dry here too in our little corner of Kent so busy watering daily too, but making the most this rare and lovely weather!
Have a lovely week…..

Beautiful arrangement Sharon, wonderful soft shades of orange & peach. I love the painting of the stream behind the flowers!
Looking at these arrangements would just have to make to feel good.
This is a beautiful bouquet, Sharon, and how clever of you to use the poppy seed heads in your arrangement! I still say you should write a book on the art of flower arranging; truly, we could all benefit from your talent. After your whirlwind shopping spree, I bet it's nice to be back home in the beautiful countryside.
Have a great day!

Only ten minutes to put together? Can you give lessons? I love the orange and peach, and the poppy heads just lend so much interest. Just wonderful.
A early morning walk in your garden sounds like heaven – and what gorgeous results. Love the poppy heads – the look perfect against the orange.
Happy Monday! XO
A luxe arrangement in a lovely container. I'm trying to peer through the monitor to see more of that charming painting behind the flowers. 🙂
Your arrangements are always great! I marvel at how they are so luxurious yet so warm and homey. Beautiful!
A beautiful arrangement using orange – not one of my favorite colors, but showy in the garden. I'm sure you are enjoying being home this week.
Oh such fabulous colors quite unexpected chez moi; I usually see a lot of blues and purples and yellows, but your orange theme today is refreshing!
Bonne journée, Anita
This was our daughter's summer wedding colors last June and the appealed to me so much. It is just lovely!
Dear. Sharon ~ Gorgeous flower arrangement!! I adore the orange roses ~ they look like sorbet or finely woven silk!! You are the most amazing at raising roses…..I can't wait to see yours……hope we have time on the tour!!! I have had an email in my drafts for over three days now……guess it's high time I finish it to you!!
Just to let you know, the quilt and dish arrived beautifully. There was a corner broken on the plate but, with it's age, I'm not surprised!! I glued it and all is well!! I just adore both!! The quilt is unbelievable!! Maybe someday I can travel with you alone and we can get down to Provence?!
Looking so forward to the brocante tour!!
All. My very best to you and your family!!!

Beautiful flowers and colours.
Hi Sharon I love your bouquet, the colours look so delicate and I am catching the perfume all the way over here. I have a climbing rose on a garden arch in the backyard it's called Naheema the colour is a delicate Almond Pink when in flower you can't smell anything but the perfume of this rose without it being overpowering. It was described as a bridal bouquet rose. Thank you for sharing these beauties. Regards Esther from Sydney.
Love your arrangement, despite orange not being a favorite color. Looks so fresh…. I am returning home after a month in Europe, and I'm looking forward to see what state my garden is in. Reportedly, the roses are flourishing as my neighbor is devotedly watering in our hot, dry California climate.
Thx!
what a lovely arrangement + love the orange, unexpected + beautiful. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
